TV western star Clint Walker was born Norman Eugene Walker along with his twin sister on May 30, 1927, in Hartford, Illinois. The tall, robust actor is famous for launching the western craze on television due to his role as Cheyenne Bodie in "Cheyenne." Prior to launching an acting career he held jobs as a sheet metal worker, nightclub bouncer, Mississippi River boatman and golf caddy. He joined the Merchant Marine at 17 and eventually wound up on the west coast. While working at the Sands Hotel in Las Vegas, many suggested his height (6'6") would be a great asset in Hollywood.
