Wahlberg, born in Dorcester, heard about the incident during a New York screening of his new film "Pain & Gain" later tha...

Wahlberg was considered to play Captain Kirk's father George Kirk, but the actor was confused by the dialogue. He passed on the part, and the job went to Chris Hemsworth instead.
Wahlberg told Total Film magazine, "I remember (Abrams) asking me to play Captain Kirk's father in Star Trek, and I tried to read the script, and I just couldn't even... I didn't understand the words or the dialogue or anything. I said, 'I couldn't do this. I think you're really talen...

Announcing the news on Friday, Oscars producer Craig Zadan said, "We are happy to make it possible for Mark and Ted to make their debut appearance on the Oscar stage and we won't deny that Ted used his pull with our host to get himself the booking."

A statement from the teddy bear, released by...

Mark Wahlberg
Mark Wahlberg has turned his young son into an ardent New England Patriots fan after taking him to a recent game and introducing him to his sporting heroes.
The Ted star and his kid were given all-access passes to visit the team's Foxborough stadium as guests of owner Robert Kraft when the Patriots hammered the Houston Texans in the play-offs last weekend.
Father and son met the players in the locker room, watched them warm up on the field and were even present when coach Bill Belichick led the pre-game prayer. And now little Michael is an avid fan desperate to get his hands on Super Bo...

Allen said there were "the best salt and pepper team ever" after Mark did his best forecaster impression.

Hottest Guys of 2012
Who are the sexiest guys in music, film and television? We narrowed our picks down to 50 in our annual list, spotlighting those who made our hearts skip a beat when we watched them perform.

Channing Tatum and Matthew McConaughey bared quite a bit in "Magic Mike," while "The Avengers" actors got our blood flowing with their explosive action scenes.

We lusted after Chris Hemsworth in "Snow White And The Huntsmans" and felt a little bit giddy when rumors swirled that Justin Bieber broke up with Selena Gomez (he didn't.)

British imports The Wanted and One Direction also caught our fancy, as ...

Mark Wahlberg To Replace Shia LaBeouf In 'Transformers 4'

11/9/2012 8:39am EST
Mark Wahlberg
One way to freshen up (or destroy) a popular franchise is to change the lead actor. It can work - Jeremy Renner did a decent job taking over from Matt Damon in the "Bourne" series - but we're not sure how it will affect the blockbuster "Transformer" films.

Director Michael Bay just announced that Mark Wahlberg will join the fourth installment of the franchise, replacing Shia LaBeouf.

Bay wrote on his website, "Mark is awesome. We had a blast working on 'Pain and Gain' and I’m so fired up to be back working with him. An actor of his caliber is the perfect guy to re-invigorate the franchise...

The season kicked off big time with "The Avengers," which brought in a record $207.4 million during its first weekend. Performances by stars such as Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson brought life to Iron Man,...

Mark Wahlberg's Son Punched Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson In The Nuts

7/2/2012 9:32am EDT
Mark Wahlberg
On the set of his new movie "Pain and Gain," Mark Wahlberg's 3-year-old son punched his father's co-star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in the genitals.

During filming, Wahlberg asked Johnson to stop by his trailer so his children could meet the former wrestler. He didn't realize his son's painful penchant for greeting men would apply to the three year old's hero.

Wahlberg recalls, "They're in the trailer, he gives my one son a high five and then the next one he goes to give him a high five and my son... (punched him) right in the nuts. I'm like, 'What are you doing, dude?' And he (Johnson) lo...

Rhea Durham
Mark Wahlberg has been banned from watching the Super Bowl at home with friends following a fight with his wife after his beloved New England Patriots lost to rivals the New York Giants in February.

The passionate Boston, Massachusetts sports fan was so upset when the Giants won he kicked all his pals out of his house and then yelled at his wife Rhea Durham when she told him to calm down.

The movie star admits he has regretted the confrontation ever since and now he accepts he may never be able to watch his Patriots in the football final if his wife is at home.

He says, "She was so up...

The Top 7 Slackers In Films: In Honor Of 'Ted' Release

6/29/2012 9:03am EDT
Sure… one half of the buddy comedy film Ted (opening tomorrow) might be a stuffed animal come to life, but that doesn’t mean Seth MacFarlane’s comedy still doesn’t belong in the slacker comedy category.

Mark Wahlberg plays John Bennett whose wish for his teddy bear to come to life at the age of eight comes true. Ted (voiced by MacFarlane) and John enjoy a fun filled slacker lifestyle together until one day John meets and falls in love with Lori (Mila Kunis) and tries to embrace adulthood.

To honor this strange stacker bromance, we thought it fitting to list our top seven favorite slackers...

Review 'Ted': A Must See Original And Entertaining Comedy

6/28/2012 7:12pm EDT
I love talking animals and I have to admit I own quite a few. Granted they're stuffed with a vocabulary of not more than ten words; which definitely doesn't come close to the vocabulary of 'Teddy', the foul mouth, boozing, pot smoking, oversexed bear.

Teddy is one of the stars of Seth MacFarlane's new film 'Ted'. MacFarlane, for those of you who aren't into animated TV shows, is the creator of 'Family Guy' and 'The Cleveland Show'.

And just like these edgy sitcoms, 'Ted' is hysterically funny, outrageous and wonderfully politically incorrect.

When the film opens, we meet John, a lonely, ...

Mark Wahlberg Says He Was 'Really Comfortable' Looking Stupid On 'Ted' Set

6/26/2012 11:22am EDT
Mark Wahlberg had no misgivings about looking stupid while filming his new comedy Ted, insisting he's not as "self-conscious" as he was in his younger days.

The Departed star had to use his imagination to shoot scenes in Seth MacFarlane's film, which uses CGI to create a foul-mouthed teddy bear which comes to life.

Wahlberg relished acting the fool on the big screen, but admits he would have struggled with the part earlier in his career because he was desperate to appear cool.

He tells MTV News, "I've really found myself in a really comfortable position. I've always said that years ag...

Pain and Gain
Actor Mark Wahlberg says he munched on 10 meals a day in a bid to gain weight for his new movie Pain And Gain.

The Ted star, who plays bodybuilder Daniel Lugo in the upcoming film, followed a 24-hour plan and even woke up at various times throughout the night to get his latest food fix and drink his muscle-building shakes.

He tells E! Online, "I was eating 10 meals a day and drinking mass gainers. I was drinking my own. I created this line of supplements with (retail chain) GNC. It was a lot of work."

"A lot of getting up at two in the morning to eat another meal and I was still full ...

Mark Wahlberg
Actor Mark Wahlberg is returning to school later this month to study for his high school diploma.

The Fighter star quit his studies at the age of 13 and, after a stint behind bars for assault, he became a model and pop star before making it in Hollywood.

Last year, the Massachusetts-born Wahlberg admitted he was keen to go back to school so he can become a better role model for his children - and the actor has now enrolled in an online course to complete his education.

He tells talk show host David Letterman, "I am going back now. They have this new program in Massachusetts now where you...

The teenage singer made his first foray into cinemas last year with his documentary film Justin Bieber: Never Say Never and he has since been tapped to star in a new basketball-themed movie along with Mark Wahlberg.

However, the Baby hit-maker admits movie bosses weren't happy with the script and ordered a re-write, meaning fans will have a longer wait to see the star on the big screen.
