The First 'Lone Ranger' Trailer Is Here!
After months of anticipation, and one much-buzzed about tease at Comic-Con, the world was finally treated to the first trailer for Johnny Depp's high octane western "The Lone Ranger" last night.
And all we can say is: Hi-Yo Silver! And Away!
Of course, there were a few surprises in the trailer, the main one being that the star of the film seems to be neither Armie Hammer (who plays the titular masked vigilante) nor Depp (who plays his unexpectedly fierce Native American partner Tonto) but rather an assortment of lovingly filmed trains. The trailer does play out just a little bit like the...

Johnny Depp Makes 'Lone Ranger' Demands
Remember the recent story saying that The Lone Ranger starring Johnny Depp wouldn't be going forward? Well, that might not be true. According to Deadline, an insider claims that Depp is demanding to work with director Gore Verbinski.
A few years ago, Johnny Depp showed up on a white horse at a Disney event, signaling that he would be playing Tonto in the Gore Verbinski-directed The Lone Ranger. Since then, we've heard a ton of tales, including that the studio wasn't going forward with the project. Too expensive, it seems.

Trailer Talk: This Week in Movies - 'Rango,' 'The Adjustment Bureau' & More
Not only did I see last week’s comedy “Hall Pass” starring Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis, but I had the chance to interview its directors Peter and Bobby Farrelly. If you haven’t already, definitely check out my interview, and my review of “Hall Pass.”
I also hit theater to see the Ed Helms comedy “Cedar Rapids” which I thoroughly enjoyed. Helms stars as Tim Lippe, a small-town Wisconsin guy who’s dispatched to an insurance seminar in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The naïve Lippe is shocked when he arrives at the conference, where three of the wildest attendees Dean Ziegler (John C. Reilly), Jo...

"'Stretch Armstrong' couldn’t be in more capable hands than Imagine and Hasbro," Chairman of Universal Pictures Marc Shmuger said in a press release. "We're so excited to bring this iconic property to audiences around the world in April of 2011."

DVD Versus Blu-ray: Enjoying A Film At Its Best
One can only assume the somewhat recent onslaught of the "need" for Blu-ray comes only from a desire to have people buy films and television show sets over again. After having to update a copy of 'Sneakers' from VHS tape to DVD, a completely reasonable choice, the buck stops here. Yes, the technology is interesting at best, but it is brutally frustrating at worst.
The problem is not with the players, although they are extremely expensive still and the best player is still the one that comes in the PlayStation 3, the problem instead lies way back in the beginning of the cycle - the ...

Gore Verbinski Won't Be Directing Fourth 'Pirates Of The Caribbean'
Pirates of the Caribbean filmmaker Gore Verbinski has dealt the franchise a further blow - he's followed in the footsteps of Keira Knightley by pulling out of the forthcoming installment in the blockbuster series.
Knightley announced last month she has turned down the chance to reprise her role as aristocrat-turned-swashbuckler Elizabeth Swann.
And now Verbinski - who directed the hugely successful first three films - has informed Disney and producer Jerry Bruckheimer that he won't be returning to helm the latest offering.

Johnny Depp Delayed Farewell To Captain Jack
Johnny Depp delayed filming the final scene of Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End because he was reluctant to say farewell to his swashbuckling character Captain Jack Sparrow. The star - who plays the pirate in all three of the movies - insisted on re-shooting his last take because he had grown so attached to the role.
He says, "It was one of those moments where you are just doing anything you can to postpone it. Gore (Verbinski, the film's director) said, 'I think we've got everything, but do you want another take?'
"And I said, 'Yes, let's do another take. Let me try som...

Keira Knightley Was Devastated At End Of 'Pirates' Shoot
Keira Knightley is devastated upon concluding the final installment of Pirates Of The Caribbean movies, fearing she'll miss new "family" members Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom. The 21-year-old actress, who plays Elizabeth Swann in the Gore Verbinski-directed trilogy, admits the cast became very close since shooting began back in 2002.
The beauty says, "I was very sad because we have all been through a lot together since the first one. In a sense we've all become sort of a family so it's weird to think it's all over."

Keith Richards Showed Up Drunk for 'Pirates' Role
Keith Richards' appearance in the second Pirates Of The Caribbean sequel descended into chaos after he reportedly got so drunk on the movie set, the film's director had to prop him up. The hellraising Rolling Stones guitarist finally shot his long awaited cameo as Johnny Depp's father in Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End earlier this summer, but he is unlikely to remember the occasion.
