American actor Dick Van Patten will make his TV return on a reality show in September, 19 months after he suffered a stroke. The 78-year-old Eight Is Enough star was taken to a Los Angeles hospital in January 2006 after suffering a diabetic stroke.

Nicollette Sheridan refused to eat dog food yesterday, despite being at an event promoting "Dine With Your Dog Day." The actress wasn't the only person who turned down the opportunity - fellow dog lover star Linda Blair also refused because she is a vegetarian. Sheridan said, "This is not Fear Factor."

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has declared Saturday "Dine With Your Dog Day," and he has teamed up with actor Dick Van Patten's Natural Balance dog food company Natural Balance in the hope of showing dog lovers how delicious pet chow can be.

Beloved TV star Dick Van Patten is recovering after suffering a stroke. The 77-year-old star was taken to Cedar Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles last month after suffering a diabetic stroke, but the fun-loving actor is already bouncing back from the health crisis. Van Patten, who suffers from Type 2 diabetes, sustained some speech impairment and paralysis from the stroke, but he's already well on the way to making a full recovery.
