Anna Paquin
Vampire and werewolf fans are eager to sink their teeth into new episodes of "True Blood," which kicks off its fifth season on Sunday, June 10.

At the end of season four, Sookie (Anna Paquin) defeated Marnie, but her showdown with Debbie may have had fatal consequences for Tara. Meanwhile, the Bon Temps crew were approaching a new crisis with the return of Russell Edgington, their familiar friend who ended up in a what appears to be an un-permanent cement grave.

Cast members attended the season five premiere in Hollywood on Wednesday, and Paquin showed off her growing baby bump. She a...

May 14th, 2012 11:09am EDT
True Blood
Get ready for a bloody good time this summer as the season premiere of HBO's True Blood kicks off June 10. Beware, the new trailer seems to have a spoiler or two in it, so if you're one of those "I don't want to know" people, you've been warned.

Judging from this new trailer, it looks like the underground Vampire Authority is pissed as human-vampire relations have broken down. We also get a glimpse of Chris Meloni in action and as usual Sookie (Anna Paquin) seems to be in the thick of it all.

Watch the trailer.

Swedish actor Alexander Skarsgard, who plays vampire Eric Northman, recently talked about filming love scenes with Paquin, who plays Sookie Stackhouse.

He told GQ magazine, "It's really clear to Steve [Moyer] and to everybody else what the deal is - which is that Anna is like a sister to me... Those love scenes take quite a bit of...

15 'True Blood' Spoilers: Plus, Why Powerful Vampire Eric is 'Completely Lost'

March 7th, 2011 10:07am EST
Alexander Skarsgard | Photo Credits: Doug Hyun/HBO
Trying to get True Blood executive producer Alan Ball and the cast of the HBO series to give away anything about the upcoming fourth season is not easy. Oh, but how they love to tease! During Saturday's PaleyFest panel, we heard all about fairies, demon babies, amnesia (poor Eric!) and why — brace yourselves — Sookie and Bill are doomed for the time being.

Bill's not getting back into Sookie's, er, good graces any time soon. It's going to take a long while for her to get past Eric's...

'True Blood' Recap - 'Evil is Going On'

September 13th, 2010 1:56pm EDT
True Blood
Finally, finally, finally Bill Compton shows his true colors on "True Blood." Maybe sometimes he can be lovey dovey and adorable with Sookie, but he can also be a snake in the grass who is desperately obsessed with his fairy-blood girlfriend. This finale was about a lot of secrets being revealed all at once, which makes it perfect for them to clean everything up and start anew next season. And what was up with Russell being even funnier during his last episode on screen? Apparently a charred face just ups the comedy value.

So, Sookie is saved by Eric and she immediately runs out to the sun...

True Blood Recap - 'Fresh Blood'

August 31st, 2010 12:23pm EDT
True Blood
So in True Blood Eric's plan for Sookie and Russell comes to fruition, and it's a little anti-climatic but it works too. The little hints about Sookie's abilities and what her blood means as a fairy did come full circle here. And while it's hard to say if Eric sacrificing himself means he's forgiven for locking her in a dungeon and draining her, it does head in the right direction. Plus, it seems like the slow death of the Sookie/Bill relationship might finally come about. Yay! (Sorry, shipper fans).

Bill comes looking for Sookie and gets a faceful of silver pepper spray from Pam for the e...

True Blood Recap - 'Everything Is Broken'

August 18th, 2010 8:56am EDT
True_Blood
A very shocking fact: True Blood only has three more episodes left. Has this season flown by considerably fast, or is that just me? I was starting to wonder what the ending of this season was going to start resembling, and luckily by the end of the last episode, it all started to become clear. This deviates from the books considerably, but so does the rest of the show so not very surprising. In some ways, it's more interesting, because it speaks to a grander world-wide level of insanity that this insular show usually ignores. We haven't left Bon Temps or the southern area very often, but th...

Snoop Dogg's 'True Blood' Cameo Request Denied

August 11th, 2010 8:21am EDT
Snoop Dogg
Snoop Dogg's call for a cameo on hit vampire drama True Blood has been rebuffed - the show's star Sam Trammell insists the series does not need superstars to entice viewers.

The rapper is a huge fan of the racy bloodsucking series, and urged TV bosses to get in touch with him to organize a guest appearance. He recently said, "I love that show. I wish I could be on it. I'd be a hell of a vampire, don't you think? So what's happenin'? True Blood, get at me - Snoop Dogg wants to be a vampire."

However, at a U.K. convention earlier this month, True Blood shape-shifter Trammel admits the sho...

True Blood Recap - 'Night On The Sun'

True Blood Recap
True Blood is great in a lot of ways, but sometimes you wonder if it'll ever give the audience a chance to breath. Even when the cast moves back to the currently calm world of Bon Temps, it doesn't really let up for more than a few moments. Having an adrenaline rush for an entire hour is intense! Last week the episode ended with Sookie screaming her head off at Bill, and Anna Paquin has some major pipes on her, because every scream she does is just earsplitting. Eventually she shoos everyone out of the room and she and Bill break up for real this time. Of course everyone knows it won't actu...

'True Blood' Recap - 'I Got A Right To Sing The Blues'

True Blood
Sookie Stackhouse is one piece of work. No matter how much information she receives telling her that her vampire lover Bill is not good for her - even from his own mouth - she refuses to listen to it. It's a single minded obsessive love that can get grating, but it's difficult not to respect her for at least trying to be proactive about it. Last episode Bill led King Russell and his people right to Sookie, and now she's in his hands. Bill tries to save her and manages to stake one of Russell's guards, but he's no match for the ancient vampire and gets his butt handed to him. Russell tells L...

'True Blood' Recap - '9 Crimes'

True Blood
Wow. I feel like we constantly say 'wow' at True Blood, and it will never stop happening. Remember when finding Gran dead was the most insane thing we'd seen on the show so far, and then Rene was the killer and then Maryann turned everyone into zombies, and last week Bill turned Lorena's head completely around while they had sex? Yeah, this keeps getting crazier. One thing I'd personally like to see is a werewolf clan that isn't crazy, because we've seen plenty of the V-addicted sorts, and Alcide and his sister Janice seem pretty solid and interesting all on their own. Let's not get a stere...

'True Blood' Recap - 'It Hurts Me Too'

June 29th, 2010 9:26pm EDT
True Blood
True Blood is known for its sex, blood, and violence, and it has occasionally dipped into blending the three, but never quite as directly as last week's episode. The two sex scenes were both strange, awkward, and in one case, bordering abusive/violent. The past few months have not been kind to most of the characters, so it's not that surprising one by one they seem to be losing their minds.

It starts off right where the last one left off, with a werewolf in Sookie's house and her firing a gun at it. Eric jumps in front of the bullet though, claiming they need information from the guy, and ...

'True Blood' Recap - Beautifully Broken

True Blood
True Blood, what did we ever do without you in our life? It's so good to have the show back, and they're wasting no time before blowing the audience's collective mind. Previously on the show, Bill was kidnapped, Sookie was freaking out, Tara was committing suicide because Eggs is dead, Jason was guilty because he killed Eggs, Eric was in trouble because of the illicit V selling thanks to Sophie-Anne, and Jessica had killed a man. Sucks to be basically everyone on this show! The last thing we saw was Bill taking on a wolfpack.

The episode starts right up there, with Bill covered in blood an...

'True Blood' Recap - 'Bad Blood'

True Blood
HBO has provided some incredible television for their hard working (and high paying) customers, but it's rare that a show catches fire the way True Blood has. This show achieved critical acclaim from the beginning, with people promising that Alan Ball has created more than just 'another vampire show,' and each season grew in popularity and viewership. Season three has premiered to high numbers, and with the momentum it has, it has a real chance of becoming the best rated show HBO has ever had. Does it deserve this? Hell yes. The marketing is brilliant but it does not lie; True Blood is back...

Season three of HBO's gothic drama "True Blood" promises sex, danger, violence, scary werewolves, and even scarier new vampires. One of the most buzzed-about series since "The Sopranos" is premiering on June 13 to some hungry fans. Last summer, the show really began to boil, registering with both critics and audiences: At 4.3 million viewers an episode, it doubled its season 1 ratings. "It was a breakthrough season in terms of feeling like it became part of pop culture," says Michael Lombardo, HBO's head of programming. "It was the sort of show I started hearing people talk about on Mon...

True Blood
"True Blood" actor Alexander Skarsgard is eager to take on nudity and same-sex trysts if the role calls for it.

He explains, "I'm not a prude at all. I shot a very, very graphic scene two days ago with a man. I am from Sweden, and it's different there. If it makes sense, I'll just do it. And to me, so far, it's made sense every single time I've got naked or made out on the show."

According to tvguidemagazine.com, "True Blood’s" new gay vampire Talbot (Theo Alexander), will cheat on his 3,000-year-old boyfriend of 700 years, King of Mississippi Russell Edgington (Denis O’Hare), with one o...

"True Blood" is a pretty remarkable show in that the second season eclipsed the first one in terms of writing and excellent acting, which was a big deal since the first season was critically acclaimed and beloved already. There are a lot of fans who say that they liked the premiere season, but they've started to love it this season. Every episode has been strong and interesting and weird, so it stands to reason that one episode eventually had to suck. Just so that "True Blood" didn't get too arrogant. This was that episode. It didn't suck so much as ... it was kind of treading water getting...

"True Blood" I have a bone to pick with you. Now I love you very much, especially when you go crazy on me, but the most recent episode was only 45 minutes long. That is at least 10 minutes less than what we're used to, and the shortness was definitely felt. There are only two episodes left, and I expect them to be excruciatingly long to make up for it, got it?

The show opens with Sookie dreaming about Eric again, and while it does establish her softening toward him, they're becoming slightly annoying. DreamEric is most definitely not Eric, and hopefully Sookie needs to de-Twilight her th...

'True Blood' Makes An Impression At Comic-Con

True Blood
When "True Blood" first premiered on HBO last year, it already had quite an eager and excited audience. Perhaps it was the viral ads that HBO kept running, or the vampire-mania that was beginning to get attention again, but at least some of it had to do with its strong, vocal presence at the San Diego Comic Con. Thousands of people saw huge posters all over the con advertising the show and got a few first looks, so this year at a comic con it was like the cast was coming home to an inbuilt fanbase. Almost every major actor on the show appeared at the panel, and Ballroom 20, one of the large...
