May 9th, 2012 11:23pm EDT
The Voice Finale - And It's Jermaine for the Win
Host Carson Daly welcomes us to The Voice finale. There have been three months of blind auditions, battles and live performances. Four contestants - Jermaine Paul, Tony Lucca, Chris Mann and Juliet Simms - have given everything they’ve got to win over their coaches and the viewing audience. The four celebrity coaches - Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green, Blake Shelton, and Christina Aguilera - have done their best to pick winning vocalists, and to nurture the musical talents to this peak point.

It’s all over but the two hours that our poor finalists will have to endure before discovering just ...

Channing Tatum Shakes His Booty, Licks The Pole On 'SNL' Skit

February 6th, 2012 9:11am EST
Channing Tatum on SNL
Channing Tatum revisited his stripper past on "Saturday Night Live" by peeling off for a series of skits.

The star, who has turned his experiences in Florida's clubs into a new movie, kicked off his guest hosting stint on the show, which aired on Saturday, by showing off some of his former dance moves and ripping open his shirt to reveal a toned torso.

He also portrayed a cheesy dancer, called Nick Ersweat, in a sketch at the end of the show, ripping off his vest, lying on the floor and kicking his legs in the air as he tried to entertain a group of straight-faced Asian women.

Tatum also...

90s Nickelodeon Stars: Then And Now

August 1st, 2011 3:00pm EDT
Kenan And Kel
TeenNick is re-airing all of the favorite shows from the 90s in a programming block entitled "The 90s Are All That," so we figured we would look back on a trio of stars to see how much they have changed!

Kenan Thompson: Kenan was relatively unknown to older audiences tuning into Saturday Night Live, but those who watched him perform for years on Nick knew that he was going to shine. He's a bit different than the kid starring on Kenan and Kel, All That, and Good Burger.

Amanda Bynes: How long has Amanda Bynes been on television? All That was making fun of Ross Perot when she was on the c...

Miley Cyrus Mocks Fergie in Hilarious 'Saturday Night Live' Black Eyed Peas Sketch (Video)

March 6th, 2011 3:40pm EST
Miley Cyrus
There were a lot of good things about this week's Saturday Night Live, and one of them - perhaps the funniest skit on Saturday's show - featured first-time host Miley Cyrus putting her singing voice to good use while mocking Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie.

Cast regulars Kenan Thompson and Andy Sandberg played the two 'other guys' in the group - apl.de.ap and Taboo, respectively - hosting their own talk show which gets crashed by Fergie (Cyrus) and BEPs frontman will.i.am (either totally downplayed or just unconvincingly by Jay Pharaoh).

And who did the "b-list BEPs" have on their "show" as...

Miley Cyrus
Miley Cyrus is set to host this week's episode of Saturday Night Live, which also features musical guest The Strokes.

The Hannah Montana star shot a short promo for her spot on the show with cast member Kenan Thompson and even hinted that she's ready to take on making fun of herself - referencing the show's ongoing bit "The Miley Cyrus Show," in which cast member Vanessa Bayer plays the role of Miley and Hall Pass star and SNL regular Jason Sudeikis plays her dad, Billy Ray.

Miley says, "It's pretty cool," in the promo, which leads us to believe that she's up for poking a little fun at he...

Kenan Thompson
A recent New York dinner date turned sour for comedian Kenan Thompson when he was caught up in an altercation with a drunken diner.

The Snakes on a Plane star was eating at Lower East Side restaurant Avenue A Sushi with "a very attractive woman," when an intoxicated man rudely attempted to get his attention.

A source tells the New York Daily News, "Kenan just brushed him off, but then the guy patted the top of Kenan's head like you would a little kid. At that point, Kenan got in the guy's face."

However, the star didn't allow the incident to ruin his evening. The source adds, "The wai...

SNL's Jenny Slate Doing Fine After F Bomb

October 26th, 2009 9:57am EDT
Jenny Slate
Jenny Slate made an auspicious debut on Saturday Night Live this year, accidentally saying the F word in a sketch in the season premiere. Slate remains a part of the cast, and her castmate, Kenan Thompson, reports that everything has settled down behind the scenes.

"Yeah, she's good," Thompson said. "It happens. It's a live show. [Lorne Michaels]'s not going to fire anybody over a slip up like that. That was an innocent thing I think. I don't think she was like, 'This is my chance to say the F word on television.'"

The SNL veterans were sympathetic about the uncertainty that faced Sla...

Kenan Thompson Talks 'Sit Down, Shut Up' , 'SNL' And More

May 7th, 2009 10:44am EDT
Kenan Thompson
Sit Down, Shut Up may be one of the more brilliant shows to premiere this television season. Produced by the creators of, and starring half the cast of, Arrested Development, the show already has comedy street cred. (Unfortunately, just like it's highly acclaimed predecessor, Sit down, Shut Up may be in trouble. It's hard to ignore the show's being moved 90 minutes earlier to the Sunday night at 7 pm, "I know you're watching 60 Minutes," time slot. Hopefully, Fox will not make the same mistake twice.) Saturday Night Live's Kenan Thompson, who provides the voice for the school's principal, S...

An Insider's Look At 'SNL' Behind The Scenes

April 1st, 2009 10:53am EDT
SNL
I am a Saturday Night Live junkie - so much so that at times I have trouble hiding how big of a fan when that little thing called professionalism may be at stake. It was so apparent in the interview I conducted with current featured player Bobby Moynihan - a self-described "SNL" nerd himself - that he casually mentioned the prospect of me attending a show.

Now I could tell Bobby was a really nice guy, but I thought he was just trying to be polite. I was pleasantly surprised (read: screamed like a 12 year old girl!) when a week later he followed up on that invitation and asked if I wan...

Saturday Night Live
For those of you who have been keeping score, it has been a long time since Saturday Night Live, once the premier, end all and be all of comedy on television, has held the clout it once demanded. In fact, many of those who grew up on the late night comedy show have long since grown disinterested and weary of sub par casts, guests, and skits. "Saturday Night Live" was declared dead by popular consensus. And yet, after 33 seasons, it is making a new bid with some fresh faces. Sound the alarm - the funniest night of the week is back:

Top 20 Kid Shows From The 80s & 90s

April 29th, 2008 11:35am EDT
Ren & Stimpy
Remember the innocence of childhood? The birthday parties. The water gun fights. The sleep overs. Oh, and the television shows! This is a countdown of the top 20 kids shows from the mid 80s and mid 90s. There are some exceptions, though, and they are as follows:

Though excellent shows, programs such as Pee Wee’s Playhouse, Sesame Street, and "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood" are absent from this list. This isn’t just because they premiered decades ago but also because their target demographic was roughly children six and under, rather than kids aged seven to fifteen, which this coun...

Starpulse DVD Review: Snakes On A Plane

January 5th, 2007 11:04am EST
Snakes on a Plane
Early in 2006 it was announced that a film called "Snakes on a Plane" was going to hit theaters by the end of summer. Initially the film sounded like a total flop with a name like "Snakes on a Plane"-- a total B-movie that would be a complete bomb at the box office. But then we found out that Samuel L. Jackson would be starring as the film's main character. In fact, Jackson even signed on to do the film based on the title itself and hadn't even read the script. So naturally, as soon as Jackson's name was attached, every blogger from Perez Hilton to The Superficial and news collective from ...
