Patrick Swayze's 'Ghost' To Be Made Into TV Series

Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore's 1990 film "Ghost" is being remade for the small screen.

One of the most romantic films of all time, the film centered on Sam (Swayze), a ghost trying to avenge his death and protect his fiancee (Moore). Whoopi Goldberg played the wacky psychic Oda Mae, the only person who could communicate with Sam.

"Ghost" earned more than $500 million at the box office and won two Academy Awards for Goldberg and screenwriter Bruce Joel Rubin. The film was also adapted into a Braodway musical.

In her new tell-all book, Kirstie Alley confesses she had a secret romance with her "North and South" co-star Patrick Swayze nearly 30 years ago.

The couple fell in love in 1985 while working together on the mini-series, according to Alley's memoirs, "The Art of Men." Both of them were married at the time, and according to Alley, the actor wanted her to get divorced so they could get married.

The infamous routine Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey performed in "Dirty Dancing" has been voted the greatest ever movie dance.

The stars' steps came out on top in the poll, carried out by LoveFilm in celebration of the release of dance movie remake "Footloose" later this month.

'Point Break' Remake Is Back On

A remake of 1991 hit movie Point Break is surfing back into action after an initial reboot was shelved following Patrick Swayze's death in 2009.

The late Ghost actor and Keanu Reeves starred in the original cult film, about a gang of surfers who rob banks.

Swayze was due to reprise his role as group leader Bodhi in a revamp, but the movie was abandoned after the star lost his battle with pancreatic cancer.

Now, studio bosses at Alcon Entertainment have started work on the film, which will center around extreme sports.

Dirty Dancing is set for a big screen revamp - with the original movie's choreographer taking on the role of director.

"Dirty Dancing" has been voted the top feelgood movie of all time. The romantic 1987 movie, starring the late Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, polled 15 percent of votes in a new Lovefilm.com poll.

Editor Helen Cowley says, "Dirty Dancing has all the key ingredients to pick you up, a first love, summer romance, great dancing, Patrick Swayze and one of the best soundtracks in film."

Jennifer Grey, who starred with Patrick Swayze in 1987's 'Dirty Dancing' has spoken out on the actor's passing.

Swayze lost his battle with pancreatic cancer on Monday. He was 57 years old. "Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months," a publicist said in a statement.
