Ten Films I Love That You've Never Heard Of
Brittany's Blog: This is my viewpoint, from the far end of the couch...and this weekend, I'm busy re-organizing my DVD collection. All 3,000-plus of them. But while I own my fair share of blockbusters, I also have a special place in my heart for lesser-known movies. A lot of great films fly under the radar, and as I'm moving a few of them around on my shelves, I thought I ought to share them with you.
In alphabetical order, here are ten of my favorite flicks that you probably didn't know existed, and links so you can pick them up for yourselves (which you should).

10 On-Set Celebrity Romances That Didn't Last
"Twilight" sweethearts Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson seemed like a match made in heaven until the actress publicly confessed to having an affair with her "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders.
Even worse, rumors circulated that Pattinson had been planning to propose before he found out his girlfriend cheated. Now the couple, which has notoriously been private about their relationship, appears to have broken up after dating for three years and starring in five films together.

'Alcatraz' Kaput!
J.J. Abrams' prison drama Alcatraz has been axed after just one season on air.
The show, starring Sam Neill and Lost's Jorge Garcia, was based around San Francisco's legendary Alcatraz prison and focused on the mysterious reappearance of prisoners and guards who vanished from the island jail in the 1960s.
Nevertheless, fans won't get to see a second season after bosses at the Fox network pulled the plug on the show this week.
Fox chiefs have also axed Bones spin-off The Finder, but they renewed Kiefer Sutherland's TV drama Touch for a second series, according to EW.com.

Will Ferrell and Ryan Gosling are among the big winners at this year's Webby Awards, which celebrate the cream of online entertainment.
Funnyman Ferrell, who co-founded the comedy website Funny Or Die, won the best individual performance award for his impersonation of former president George W. Bush reacting to Osama bin Laden's death.
Gosling was honored alongside Jim Carrey and Eva Mendes in the best comedy entry for their work on Funny Or Die's Drunk History Christmas.

'Touch' Recap: 'Safety In Numbers' Saves A Few Lives
So far, Touch is coming together pretty nicely, with its intriguing pilot and solid second episode. This third one begins with Martin getting a call from the board and care facility, and he shows up much to the annoyance of Clea, who warns him to be careful. Both of them are surprised to find that Jake has escaped from his room again, and he's writing a new number: 3287.
As Clea's leading him back to his room, Jake slips a clipping of a dragon with the number on it into his father's jacket. Martin takes the number to our wise old guy, Teller (Danny Glover), who warns him to keep h...

'Touch' Recap: '1+1=3' Is Wrong Math, But Great TV
It's been awhile since we saw the Touch pilot, but the show is finally here to stay and for my money, it's the best new show of this TV season.
"I'm not taking him back there," Martin tells Clea when she shows up at his apartment, wanting to take Jake back to the boarding facility. It's the very next day after the events of the pilot, and Martin is insistent that his son is trying to communicate with him. Yet when Clea threatens to call the police, Martin reconsiders. Before he leaves, Jake writes the phone number to Arnie's Pawn Shop on his father's hand, the last four digits of ...

Kiefer Sutherland Broke Two Fingers & Split His Pants On Mechanical Bull Ride
Actor Kiefer Sutherland was once left desperately trying to maintain his dignity after a raucous ride on mechanical bull left him exposed.
The 24 star was a guest on Britain's The Jonathan Ross Show this week, and watched on in amusement as former England cricket player Andrew Flintoff rode a mechanical bull in front of a cheering audience.
The stunt sparked an embarrassing memory for the actor, who revealed he once was left with a busted hand and a split pair of jeans when he went wild on one of the rides.
He told Ross, "I broke two fingers and I split my pants from the crotch all the w...

'Touch' Recap: 'Pilot' (1.01)
Although it doesn't officially bow until March 19, FOX gave us an early look at the Kiefer Sutherland-led Touch tonight, and it was a glimpse at a series that could be something fantastic.
At face value, Martin Bohm couldn't be more different than Jack Bauer. He's an average, working-class guy interrupted from his work at JFK Airport so that he can get his mute son Jake down from a cell tower. Soon afterward, the number 318 starts popping up, whether it's on the back of a school bus, or on the knuckles of a random man in a convenience store (Titus Welliver, looking totally differen...

Q&A: Kiefer Sutherland Returns To TV In 'Touch'
He's leaving Jack Bauer behind (for now): Kiefer Sutherland is back on the FOX network, but it's with the new series Touch (which previews tonight). Here's what the 24 had to stay about stepping into another leading role.
Obviously, the first question is what about this made you want to come back to TV so soon after the end of 24?
It was funny. I was doing a play in New York on Broadway. I had a film that I knew I was going to go do and so I read Touch almost reluctantly. I don’t think I was completely ready to go back to television yet. I was enjoying some of the different opportunitie...

Kiefer Sutherland Misses 'Wonderful Young Actor' River Phoenix
Kiefer Sutherland is still mourning the loss of his friend and "Stand By Me" co-star River Phoenix because the young actor was on course to become one of the greats.
Phoenix was just 23 when he died outside Los Angeles club The Viper Room in 1993, and Sutherland admits he still can't believe such a promising star is gone.

The 10th Anniversary Of '24'
How time flies: 10 years ago today, 24 premiered on FOX, and television - not to mention pop culture and the world - was never the same.

It introduced the idea of a television series in real time (each episode was an hour in a day) and employed a distinctive visual style that included the widespread use of "boxes" to provide simultaneous glimpses at multiple storylines. Japanese TV Producers Pull '24' Over Radiation Plot
TV bosses in Japan have pulled a planned broadcast of the final season of 24 due to a sensitive storyline involving radiation poisoning.
The 9.0-magnitude earthquake and subsequent tsunami that struck the Asian country last month damaged a nuclear center in Fukushima, causing radiation to seep into the water supply.
In response to the crisis, TV Tokyo executives have decided not to air the eighth series of 24, in which the son of a Russian terrorist falls ill after he is exposed to nuclear rods. The fifth season of the series, which stars Kiefer Sutherland, will be shown instead.

Is The '24' Movie Finally Happening?
After 24 was cancelled, there were rumblings about a movie. Then there was a script commissioned, written by Billy Ray (Shattered Glass). For awhile, we waited.
Then news broke that Ray's script had been turned down. Articles began to surface declaring the 24 film potentially dead in the water.
Now, just a few weeks later, Extra is reporting that star Kiefer Sutherland (Jack Bauer, of course!) has not only confirmed that there will be a movie, but that it's scheduled to start shooting by the end of this year. According to the brief article, film starts rolling in eight months.

Donald Sutherland Delighted Hollywood Star Will Be Next To Son Kiefer's
Veteran actor Donald Sutherland is thrilled at the prospect of receiving a Hollywood Walk of Fame honor later this year, because his star will be right next to his son Kiefer's.
