Lake Bell's Spiderweb Dress - Hot Or Not?

August 27th, 2011 8:00am EDT
Lake Bell
We spotted Lake Bell at the "A Good Old Fashioned Orgy" Los Angeles premiere on Thursday. She wore an interesting black dress. What do you think of her look?

In the film, Eric (Jason Sudeikis) is in his early 30s, but he hasn't changed much since his high school days. Every summer, he throws an epic-scale theme party at his parents' home in the Hamptons.

However, this grand tradition is about to end, as Eric's dad (Don Johnson) has announced he's selling the house. Eric decides he should save the biggest party for last, and tells his friends he's hosting an orgy.

While Eric and his mal...

Charlie Day Steals The Show In 'Horrible Bosses'

July 10th, 2011 1:31pm EDT
Horrible Bosses
It's often said that comedic acting is more difficult than dramatic acting, for various reasons. On one hand, it's a real shame that comedic actors are never recognized for their works with Oscars or other prestigious awards. On the other hand, so many comedies are so lazy (Adam Sandler's last five movies, for instance) that they deserve the derision and low reputation they get. All of this makes it all the more delightful when a brilliant, excellent, elevating comedic performance comes along; the kind delivered by Charlie Day in "Horrible Bosses."

From the beginning, Day has his work c...

What Celebrities Would Be 'Horrible Bosses'?

July 8th, 2011 10:30am EDT
Horrible Bosses
“Horrible Bosses,” a black comedy starring funnymen Jason Bateman, Charlie Day (“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”) and Jason Sudeikis, is about three friends who conspire to kill each other’s torturous bosses. Although it doesn’t premiere in theaters until July 8, I have already heard buzz about the film’s epic hilarity from people who have attended early screenings. In honor of the movie's release (that also boasts the comedic stylings of Oscar-winner Kevin Spacey, a brunette Jennifer Aniston and a beer-bellied, balding Colin Farrell), I’m using my powers of imagination for good and ex...

Jason Bateman: Greatest Career Resurrection Ever?

July 7th, 2011 3:00pm EDT
jason bateman
One of the biggest stars in Hollywood right now was practically living in obscurity 15 years ago. The second act of Jason Bateman’s career is almost as unbelievable as it is well-deserved. After a career-boosting (heck, career-reviving) role on Fox’s short-lived sitcom “Arrested Development,” Bateman has become ubiquitous in Hollywood comedies and pretty much synonymous with the passive-aggressive straight man character. This weekend, his new movie “Horrible Bosses” opens nationwide co-starring Jason Sudeikis, Charlie Day, Jennifer Aniston, Colin Farrell and Kevin Spacey. The cast, which mi...

'Horrible Bosses' 'Two Jews On Film' Finally Agree-This Is One Funny Comedy (Video)

Horrible Bosses
By Joan Alperin Schwartz: The main thing I want when I watch a comedy...is to laugh...alot....And that is exactly what happened when I saw, director Seth Gordon's new film, 'Horrible Bosses'. This is a very funny comedy.

Nick Hendricks (Jason Bateman) has been working 12 hour days at Comnidyne Industries and swallowing all the abuse his twisted, sadistic, control freak boss, Dave Harken (Kevin Spacey) throws at him. Nick even had to miss his Gam Gam's funeral because Harken made him work. But Nick's convinced it's all worth it. After all, he's next in line to become the Senior Vice Pre...

'Hall Pass' Blu-Ray Doesn't Make The Grade

July 6th, 2011 2:00pm EDT
Hall Pass
Starting today's cavalcade of reviews of recent home releases is the New Line comedy Hall Pass, which recently bowed in an "extended cut" Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack. Here's my review.

The Movie

If you saw the commercials, you pretty much got the gist of Hall Pass. Yes, it's another comedy about some guys (in this case, Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis) who go out and get themselves into R-rated trouble. I thought there were too many of these movies before this, and having watched this, I still hold to that opinion.

There are a few things going for it, namely that there's a decent cast he...

Horrible Bosses
For those of you who’ve been following me for a while, you might recall that I gave “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,” a positive review. If you’re one of the people who read my opinion back then, you might be surprised to learn I really didn’t care for its sequel “Transformers: Dark of the Moon.” At this point, Michael Bay is just repeating a tired formula that fails to entertain despite the introduction of 3D. Check out my further thoughts here.

This weekend you’ll have the opportunity to see the outrageous comedy “Horrible Bosses,” the Kevin James family film “Zookeeper,” the ...

The agreement gives them free reign to behave like bachelors -- free from the rules and confines of fidelity, responsibility, and married life -- for one week. But soon the guys find that the small town where everybody knows them -- and their wives -- isn't very conducive to chasing tail.

And making matters worse, it turns out to be harder than they thought to accept ...

Funnyman Jason Sudeikis was only joking when he suggested he was about to become a father at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night - according to his publicist.

The Saturday Night Live comedian was nearing the end of his hosting stint at the annual awards ceremony when, during a skit with his Horrible Bosses co-stars Charlie Day and Jason Bateman, he blurted out, "Look, I have a lot of pressure on me. I've 10 minutes left of the show, I might be a dad soon..."

Day was so taken aback, he said, "What...? I'm tweeting it... You're gonna be a dad?"

However, during an awkward skit at the MTV Movie Awards, which Sudeikis was hosting, he let it slip that he could be the father - as his Horrible Bosses co-stars, Charlie Day and Jason Bateman, took the stage to criticize his performance....

Colin Farrell Gets A Career Do-Over

It’s rare in Hollywood for an actor to get a second chance at a career. The most recent example of a career rebirth is Mickey Rourke whose performance in Darren Aronofsky’s “The Wrestler” not only earned him an Oscar nomination, but gave him a new life as a serious and respected actor. In 1994, Quentin Tarantino pulled John Travolta out of the wreckage of his previously successful career and cast him in one of his most iconic roles as the hitman Vincent in “Pulp Fiction.”

Now, Colin Farrell is trying to re-start his career not as the star of mindless action movies (which he quickly became ...

Even though the story centers around a boxer, part of what makes it interesting is that there is less focus on the actual matches themselves and more on the main character Mickey Ward’s (Mark Wahlberg) struggle to separate himself from the people trying to control his life: his mother (Melissa Leo), his brother (Christian Bale), and his ...
