'Whose Line Is It Anyway' to Return on The CW

March 1st, 2013 4:24pm EST
Whose Line
The CW has ordered new episodes of the classic improv comedy TV series Whose Line Is It Anyway? to air this summer, the network announced today.

The new version of Whose Line will be hosted by comedienne Aisha Tyler (Archer) and will feature the return of show alums Ryan Stiles, Colin Mochrie and Wayne Brady. The fourth chair will be filled by as-yet-unannounced special guests.

The network's press release did not announce a premiere date or how many new episodes will air.

The new incarnation seems as if it will adhere closely to the previous version. Here's the network's description: "Pr...

Two And A Half Men – Alan’s Not So Wonderful Life

November 15th, 2011 11:28am EST
Two And A Half Men
It’s 28 days after Alan’s break from reality, and he is ready to leave the hospital, a new man. Well, actually, an old man – he’s lost his ‘Charlie’ persona and is back to being good old Alan, the leech. His nurse is less than supportive – there have been bets on when he’d be toilet trained, and another that says he’ll be back before Christmas. Is Alan ready to step back into the world, even with medication and the new tools he has learned for coping?

First things first – a warm goodbye from his loony bin roommate, Gary Busey. “"Hope you weren't planning on leaving before you gave your ol...

The Best Of 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?'

April 11th, 2011 11:00am EDT
Whose Line
As Drew Carey's Improv-A-Ganza premieres on GSN tonight (8 PM & 11 PM ET/PT), we can't help but think of all the fond memories we have of some of the same cast on Whose Line Is It Anyway? In tribute, my colleague Jennifer Decker and I have each selected our five favorite moments (in no particular order) from Whose Line.

Note: For the purposes of simplicity and space, this list refers only to the American (ABC) version of Whose Line Is It Anyway? We have a deep affection for the original UK series (hi, Clive Anderson!) but if we included it, we'd be here all day.

Interview: Inside 'Drew Carey's Improv-A-Ganza'

April 4th, 2011 5:00pm EDT
Drew Carey's Improv-A-Ganza
Next Monday, they'll be returning to your living rooms with the new GSN series Drew Carey's Improv-A-Ganza - but before that, they stopped by to chat! I ask improv geniuses Ryan Stiles, Colin Mochrie, Kathy Kinney, Jonathan Mangum and Greg Proops about coming back to television and some of their best moments from Whose Line Is It Anyway? and beyond.

Let's start at the beginning: after the cult status of Whose Line, why did you decide to come back and do another improv television series?

Kathy Kinney: We were all there when Drew [Carey] got addicted to improv. We heard the click. He ha...

'Drew Carey's Improv-A-Ganza' Advance Review

March 29th, 2011 11:45am EDT
Drew Carey's Improv
I still have fond memories of Whose Line Is It Anyway?, the half-hour improvisational comedy series that began as a UK edition from 1988-1998, and then an American version from 1998-2004 on ABC (in fact, reruns still air on ABC Family). When Whose Line was on, almost everyone I knew was watching it. Now GSN is giving us the next best thing: Drew Carey's Improv-A-Ganza, another half-hour comedy series that features many of the Whose Line performers.

Seriously, you've seen most of these people before. Aside from Carey, the cast includes Whose Line regulars Jeff Davis, Chip Esten, Greg P...
