3/26/2008 4:23pm EDT
Barack Obama
The general election isn't until November, but already the competitive campaign season has tested the candidates. They need to be well-versed on foreign affairs, the economy, the war in Iraq and... pop culture? That's right, ladies and gentlemen. America's love fest with entertainment and celebrity just segued into a politics-meets-pop-culture frenzy.

Like any modern celeb, the candidates have to show a strong presence on the Internet. Especially prominent on the web is Senator Barack Obama. His public speaking savvy and themes of hope and change translate easily onto the pop culture s...

3/6/2008 11:45am EST
The Fridge in G.I. Joe
We have to say, the process of compiling a list of the best athlete cameos has been done to death. We get it; Keith Hernandez was hilarious in Seinfeld (he was), and Mr. Burns' All Star softball team episode of The Simpsons is a classic (it is). We wanted to delve a bit deeper though, really flesh out some more obscure and odd cameos' from our favorite stars in the world of sports.

Movies That Will Probably Suck In 2008

1/21/2008 11:20am EST
The Eye
Movies are awesome. Sometimes, however, a movie isn't awesome. Sometimes it should never have been made, and you shouldn't go see it (because it's a waste of money or you just want to protest). These movies have a high suckitude value, and this should serve as a warning to you all. If you still go and see them, that's your problem. The "Suck Scale" runs from 1-5, with 5 being amazingly bad.

Meet the Spartans

The spoof genre was funny once. Scary Movie was new, fresh and gave a new spin on satire. It proved to movie makers that if they insisted on producing garbage, that garbage would...

TV Classics We'd Like To See On the Silver Screen

1/17/2008 1:37pm EST
Hoping to exploit rabid fans of a long-lost cult classic? Feeling the need to pump some more revenue out of a long-dead television juggernaut? Fresh out of any and all original film ideas? Look no further!

Film adaptations of former (and occasionally current) TV series have been popular for years - and why not? It makes perfect sense to create a film adaptation of a beloved series. They each have a built-in fan base just waiting to be exploited.

These films usually vary widely. They can be a continuation of the narrative established in the series or they can keep the con...

Indiana Jones and the Temple of AARP (Let's Leave Indy in Retirement)

Let's get this out of the way before I even begin to write about anything else: Harrison Ford is 64 years old. That's beyond the aged cheese that is Bruce Willis. We're talking Sly Stallone's territory. Let's examine Stallone's recent career ch...

Has Hollywood Run Out of Ideas?

11/20/2007 11:49am EST
Underdog Movie
There no longer seems to be much originality in Hollywood. When did the ability to sit down and write a captivating screenplay from scratch go out of style? It seems that Hollywood is stuck on turning cartoons and video games into movies. And there's the predatory sequel often lurking and waiting to be as bad as the original movie or better, if we're lucky.

Cartoon Disasters

Talk about digging something out of the woodwork. In the summer of 2007, the 1964-1973 cartoon "Underdog" was brought to life on the big screen, and we have to wonder why? Kids probably enjoyed it, and "Und...
