'America's Got Talent': Live From The Inside (#621/#622)

August 11th, 2011 8:00am EDT
America's Got Talent
It's YouTube Special week on America's Got Talent! After America voted on and judges viewed countless submissions to the Internet video site, the top twelve acts performed live - many for the first time - on the AGT stage in Hollywood.

How did they fare?

Let's preface things by saying that these are amateurs, not professionals. On top of that, the majority of them were bringing their acts to a live audience for the first time - and doing so under TV lights is a lot different than most performances. There's a certain amount of understanding that has to be given out here.

That being said...

Q&A: Paul Iacono Explains Why The World Needs Another 'Fame'

September 22nd, 2009 11:31am EDT
Paul Iacono - Fame
Paul Iacono stars as wannabe future star Neil Baczynsky -- playing a character that attends the exact performing arts high school he actually attended -- in the new remake of "Fame." Paul joins us and explains, basically, why the world needs a new "Fame" film in the first place.

Mike Ryan: Explain why the world needs a new "Fame."

Paul Iacono: Why does the world need a new "Fame"? Well, in 1980, Alan Parker's film was really groundbreaking in the sense it gave a gritty, realistic, sort of dirty portrayal of kids aspiring to be in the preforming arts field. It was very innovative for i...

August 10th, 2009 9:30am EDT
True Blood
Oh em gee, "True Blood," why do you have to hurt your fans every single week with insane cliffhangers? How are we supposed to carry on for seven whole days? It's cruel and unusual punishment. Boy did a lot happen this week, so let's get right to it. There is a new character to worship on the show, and it is actually possible he's better than his child. What? Someone better than Eric, screams the fangirls? Why yes, because Godric is just that awesome.

Check Out 'The Best Of Whose Line Is It Anyway?' On DVD June 9

May 29th, 2009 8:06am EDT
Whose Line Is It Anyway?
On "Whose Line Is It Anyway" no one gets voted off the show. That would be too easy. Instead contestants face crueler fates: be a fish on a TV dating show, Adam and Eve when they first converse, a doo-wop group singing about a girl (and a tragic taxidermy accident). We're not making this up. They are.

Host Drew Carey, a clever crew of comedy regulars and special guests (David Hasselhoff, Florence Henderson, Jerry Springer, Richard Simmons, bodybuilder Jane Tricker and more) come up with funny-on-the-fly in the hit series that crosses a game show with mad improvisation.

'Eli Stone' Recap: George Michael Comes to Town

March 28th, 2008 9:03am EDT
George Michael
Eli Stone (Jonny Lee Miller) has had a rough couple of weeks. He was demoted at work, broke up with Taylor (Natasha Henstridge), and effectively pushed away nearly everyone else who was close to him. Oh, and he also decided that he would have surgery to remove that pesky aneurysm, only to discover that the side effects of such a procedure could be disastrous, if not fatal. Sad times in Eli land.

Enter George Michael.

Lawyers get star struck too

George has oft-appeared in Eli's past visions, usually leading Eli to make ethical (if somewhat crazy) choices. So it is understa...

'American Idol' Week Two Brings Emotional Overload

January 24th, 2008 11:25am EST
American Idol
Some people cried, some laughed and some swore in anger. Those emotions summed up the two days of "American Idol" auditions in San Diego, Calif., and Charleston, South Carolina. Last week when I said there was a change in the judge's attitude, I didn't believe it would lead to these immense outbursts of emotions. We have all seen much of this behavior from previous years, but this year was incomparable.

Charleston, dubbed the friendliest city in the nation, brought mostly a wave of despair and utter loss for a majority of the contestants. Plenty of people left in firm belief that si...
