14 Beloved Celebrities Who Have Been In Jail

March 21st, 2014 11:03pm EDT
14 Beloved Celebrities Who Have Been In Jail
Nobody's perfect, but it may surprise you to learn some the world's most beloved celebrities have spent time in jail.

Mark Wahlberg is a blockbuster star loved by many now, but in his teens he was a very trouble young man. A drug-addled Wahlberg had dozens of run-ins with the law by the time he was in his teens, but the most serious charge against him came after he attacked two Vietnamese men while shouting racial epithets, leaving one of them permanently blind in one eye. Wahlberg served 45 days behind bars for assault.

Tim Allen is known for family-friend fare like Home Improvement...

Christian Slater Marries Longtime Girlfriend

December 4th, 2013 3:00pm EST
Christian Slater and Brittany Lopez
Christian Slater and his girlfriend of three years tied the knot this week. The actor and Brittany Lopez got married in a low-key courthouse ceremony in Coral Gables, Fla., on Monday.

A rep for the 44-year-old actor confirmed the news.

The couple announced their engagement in February and went to the Coral Gables District Court to get their marriage license when they spontaneously decided to get hitched. Perhaps they were inspired by Kristen Bell and Dax Shepherd?

This is Slater's second marriage. He and ex-wife Ryan Haddon divorced in 2006. They have two children, Jaden Christopher, 14,...

Review: Familiar Sci-Fi Flick 'Stranded' Not Bad, But Not Great Either

July 26th, 2013 11:20am EDT
Stranded
By now every sci-fi alien attack in space flick has been done to death.  "Alien" was decades ago, "Event Horizon" covered the psychological aspects and "Enemy Mine" brought humanity to the whole thing.  So what is left?  Well, in the new outer space flick "Stranded" not a lot unfortunately, but there’s still some engaging work both in front and behind the camera that cannot be ignored.

Four Astronauts are situated in a lunar base for the purpose of drilling ore.  But the base is hit by a meteor shower and the damage is severe.  So they decide to send out one of their own to repair things ...

14 Of Our Favorite Celebrity Fiveheads

What's a 'fivehead'? Well, you've heard of a forehead, right? So then a fivehead must be a little bit bigger (there are even a few sixheads out there, as we'll point out later).

Some could be leased out to companies looking to increase their business, and others could be used as weapons. And perhaps some have the gift of echolocation.

We're not saying these people are unattractive because of their copious craniums, its just all in good fun.

You'll also be surprised to find out that absolutely NONE of these images have been photoshopped.

In this new “Springoween” episode, the town of Holford celebrates Halloween in the spring, since an extreme snow storm canceled the holiday in October (this may sound strangely familiar to those affected by Sandy). Blu-ray Interview/Review: 'Scarface's' Steven Bauer - Career Interview Time!

September 6th, 2011 3:30pm EDT
Scarface piece
If Tony Montana was the heavy of his illegal operation, then his right hand man Manny Ribera was most certainly the heart. Brought to life by then newbie actor Steven Bauer, Manny had both a danger and charisma that made him a perfect yin to Tony’s wild and unpredictable yang. So we here at Starpulse thought it only fitting that just in time for the tasty release of the "Scarface" Limited Edition Blu-ray hitting shelves Sept. 6 from Universal Home Video (check out the review below as well!), we wanted to get some movie geek insight about the flick from the bold Bauer himself. Chicago Code
FOX had its Television Critics Association presentation Tuesday, and from my front-row (literally) seat, I confirmed what I felt has been the case for awhile: while the network has consistently strong dramas, it still needs to find some reliable comedies - at least when it comes to ones that aren't animated.

Here's how the day played out:

The Chicago Code

The highlight of my day was easily the presentation for Shawn Ryan's new drama, The Chicago Code (premiering February 7). Given Ryan's pedigree as the creator of The Shield, The Unit and the recently axed Terriers, the buzz - and the ex...

Five Tremendous Quentin Tarantino Films

Inglorious Basterds
This week we finally get to see one of the most highly anticipated movies of the summer: "Inglorious Basterds." Like all Quentin Tarantino aficionados, we've been eagerly awaiting the arrival of this World War II action epic since it was in development.

Tarantino's films have had a profound impact on those that have an appreciation for cinema. His use of excessive violence as a form of social commentary, his references to classic movies, and his nontraditional narrative structure has remarkably influenced modern moviemaking since he hit the scene in the early 1990s.

With Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li arriving in theaters February 27, it’s time to take a look back at the video game movies that brought us to this point.

While video games run the gamut of quality - from very good to very bad - video game movies have typically been on the “poor” side of the critical spectrum. Games are written with interactivity in mind, and thus their storylines don’t always mesh with the film medium.

Still, there are a few titles one could argue are at least passable – even if fans of the video games they are based on do not find them loyal to the ori...

When Private Practice debuted in May of last year, industry bible Variety released a less than glowing review: "Private Practice isn't a full-fledged screw-up, certainly, but so far it is a serious letdown."

The tragedy of the show is that not much has changed in its second season, despite a host of enviable advantages: The medical dramedy is helmed by successful head writer/creator Shonda Rhimes, is a spinoff of Rhimes' consistently popular and buzzworthy hit Grey's Anatomy and boasts a good cast featuring that once-wildly popular Grey's character, Addison Forbes Mo...

Where does this place exist? The movies, of course. High school movies are enjoyed by stud...

During the 2007-2008 television season, the major networks premiered thirty-four new series, but only eleven of those shows will be coming back for a second run. This fall, a handful of new shows will take their shot at finding their audience. So, what is it that makes a show successful? What makes them fail? When it comes down to it, a show will have to have good writing for people to want to keep watching it, but it is getting the viewers to watch in the first place that is the challenging task. Of course, there are many different strategies to attract viewers and stay on the air, an...

Our Favorite High School Movies

Perhaps you've heard about "Assassination of a High School President," the Bruce Willis/Mischa Barton movie that darkly satirizes high school politics. While much of the high school set is eagerly anticipating the film's theatrical release in early 2009, early reviews from its January screening at Sundance have been mixed. MTV has praised it as a cross between "Rushmore" and "The Usual Suspects," while Variety labeled it an "uninventive," "muddled parody." Only time will tell if the movie becomes an instant classic or ends up in the bargain DVD bin next to "Encino Man."

There has been...
