Adrienne Shelly would have been tickled by the warm words of praise Waitress so deservedly has received. Shelly, who wrote, directed and costarred in this rich little dramedy, was killed last year in her Manhattan apartment just before its Sundance premiere; knowing her fate makes watching the movie feel even more bittersweet.

NBC has cancelled "Kidnapped." Repeats of Law & Order: Criminal Intent will take over the show's Saturday timeslot beginning November 4. A mere 3.7 million viewers tuned into the show's most-recent broadcast, making it the least-watched program of the night.

NBC will move the remaining original broadcasts of its new drama "Kidnapped" to Saturdays (9-10 p.m. ET/PT) beginning October 21 and will replace the series with a new edition of "Dateline NBC" in "Kidnapped's" original Wednesday (10-11 p.m. ET/PT) time period starting this Wednesday, October 11.

Jeremy London married Melissa Cunningham on Saturday in California. The couple both appeared on family TV show 7th Heaven where London played young minister Chandler Hampton from 2002-2004, while Cunningham appeared in a 2003 episode.

NBC is loading its new 2006-07 primetime schedule with six new dramas and four new comedies. Highlights of the upcoming season include two previously announced new dramas: "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" (Thursdays, 9-10 p.m. ET), which offers an insider's take on the backstage drama of a late-night comedy sketch show, and "Kidnapped" (Tuesdays, 9-10 p.m. ET), a high-stakes, serialized thriller about a teenaged boy's kidnapping, starring Jeremy Sisto and Delroy Lindo.

TNT is putting the summer on ice with its chilling all-star television event Nightmares & Dreamscapes: From The Stories Of Stephen King. This four-week collection of eight mind-bending tales from the master of horror, set to premiere Wednesday, July 12, features an all-star cast of Oscar, Emmy and Golden Globe winners and nominees.

NBC has given an early fall 2006-07 series order for 13 episodes of the new drama Kidnapped. The series is a high-stakes serialized thriller in which the teenage son of a wealthy Upper East Side family (Timothy Hutton and Dana Delany) is kidnapped and everyone is a suspect. The series focuses on the elaborate, triangulated game between the kidnappers, law enforcement, FBI, and the private negotiating team of the "perhaps" not-so-picture-perfect family.
