Michael Sheen Opens Up About His Visit To Syrian Refugee Camp

November 20th, 2013 12:41pm EST
Michael Sheen
Michael Sheen has spoken of the "appalling" conditions he witnessed while visiting Syrian refugees during an aid mission.

The Welsh actor jetted to the war torn country on behalf of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) to see how the organization is helping those displaced by the ongoing conflict between rebels and President Bashar al-Assad's troops.

Nevertheless, the 44 year-old star admits he was not prepared for the squalid state of the camps, where millions of children are struggling for survival, when he was actually on the ground.

He tells BBC News, "Well, it was so overw...

Masters Of Sex
Showtime's new series Masters Of Sex, which premieres on Sunday, September 29, focuses on the real life studies of sex researchers William Masters and Virginia Johnson, who in the 1950s began to revolutionize the way people view the things that go on between couples in the bedroom.

The show, based on the book of the same name by biographer Thomas Maier, stars Michael Sheen as Masters and Lizzy Caplan as Johnson, both of whom had to get comfortable with a lot of nudity and simulated sex acts.

"We've seen so many people do bizarre things in front of you, you get used to it," Sheen said at t...

The pair recently vacationed in Cancun, Mexico, with Busy Phillips and her family; however, the couple struggled to maintain a long-distance relationship, according to UsMagazine.com. Wil...

Trailer Talk: This Week in Movies
If you missed my interview with Fran Kranz and Kristen Connolly from “The Cabin in the Woods,” definitely be sure to give it a read. They both had some amusing stories to share about their experience working with Drew Goddard and Joss Whedon on the movie. Also last week, I had the opportunity to visit Washington DC for an exciting espionage adventure in honor of the blu-ray release for “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol,” which I chronicled here.

Arriving in theaters this week are the Zac Efron romantic drama “The Lucky One,” the African American comedy “Think Life a Man,” the pri...

Last week I had the opportunity to see “The Hangover Part II,” the sequel to the wildly successful 2009 hit comedy. Director Todd Philips does not really change the formula for the film or the format in which he tells the story, but there are still plenty of laughs to be found. Check out my review if you haven’t already.

Review: 'Midnight In Paris' 'Two Jews On Film' Only One Feels The Magic In This Fantasy Comedy (Video)

May 18th, 2011 2:17pm EDT
Midnight In Paris
I know critics are supposed to be objective (if that's even possible) but in the case of Woody Allen's new film, 'Midnight In Paris' it's going to be really hard. I thought it was one of the most beautiful, original, magical and romantic films I've seen in a very long time. It completely grabbed my heart.

The film opens with images of Paris...beautiful, moving images. The lights of the city, the empty streets, the gardens, museums, cafes, flea markets, parks and cathedrals. The montage goes on for quite a while...No actors...just visuals of this magnificent city....

And then we meet ...

Pirates of the Caribbean
I still have not had the opportunity to see the much talked about “Thor,” which seems to be receiving mixed reviews from everyone I know. Some people I’ve spoken to have loved it, while others have despised it, so I will have to see it for myself soon.

Last week though, I checked out the indie drama “Hesher” starring Rainn Wilson, Natalie Portman, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt which I loved. It’s definitely not your typical story of recovery from grief, mainly because of the character Hesher, played by Gordon Levitt. The squatter invites himself into the home of Paul (Wilson) and his son TJ ...

Review: 'Tron: Legacy' Game On!

In the 28 years it took for “Tron: Legacy” to reach your local Theater or IMAX screen, Communism fell, Al Gore invented the Internet and discovered global warming, and the idea of a movie based around video games became less of a “WTF”. The original “Tron”, for me, was always elusive. Every now and then I'd catch a half hour here, twenty minutes there, always on late night TV, but never had I seen the entire film.

This did not stop me from engorging myself on the Sequel. This movie is the visuals, and they deliver. They deliver in so many ways it's impossible to describe. For all the award...
