New 'HIMYM': Barney Makes Ted Take The Broath

March 20th, 2012 11:10am EDT
barney
After a short break How I Met Your Mother returned last night with an all new episode written by the show’s co-creators, Carter Bays and Craig Thomas. The last episode left us with Ted (Josh Radnor) in a transition. Robin (Cobie Smulders) told him that she didn’t love him, and as a result she moved out of the apartment above MacLaren’s. Ted, sensing that he needed a change too, gave the apartment back to Marshall (Jason Segel) and Lily (Alyson Hannigan) and began looking for a new place.

Of course the other big storyline of the last few episodes was Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) and Quin...

Jeff Who Lives at Home
Two Jews on Film - By Joan Alperin-Schwartz: We are all connected... Everyone and Everything... Nothing is random... There are signs everywhere.

Don't believe it?

Apparently you haven't seen M. Night Shyamalan's film 'Signs'.

Jeff (Jason Segel) has seen it many, many times. In fact, he's obsessed with it. And so Jeff waits... for a sign. While waiting, Jeff spends his days smoking pot and hanging out in his mother's basement apartment where he lives.

Jeff knows he's destined for something. He's just not sure what that 'something is.' But that's about to change, after our slacker gets...

Jason Segel's Tuxedo Ripped Apart & Lost Buttons During Academy Awards

March 13th, 2012 8:57am EDT
Jason Segel
Jason Segel suffered an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction at the Oscars - his fitted tuxedo started to "self-destruct" as he sat through the awards ceremony.

The star admits he felt like he crashed the "cool kids' party" at the Academy Awards last month, and his discomfort wasn't helped by his tight outfit.

Segel says, "Slowly, I'm sitting there and buttons started falling off my shirt until my shirt is held together by my bow-tie and that it's tucked in. That's it. I'm not exaggerating.

"I stood up and applauded for somebody... and I sat back down and my pants ripped from, like, my butt...

Trailer Talk: This Week in Movies
I can’t believe it took me so long to finally watch 2009’s “Pirate Radio.” Set in the 60s, this period piece superbly captures the spirit, styles, and music of the era. The film tells a compelling story about a group of rebels challenging the system, who are portrayed by a fantastic cast of actors. It’s one of the few movies I’ve watched in recent months, that I had zero complaints about. My Grade: A+

Comedies are in abundance at the box office this week with the 1980s inspired action comedy “21 Jump Street,” the Will Ferrell western comedy “Casa de mi Padre,” the Jason Segel familial...

Pop star Ke$ha has fallen victim to internet pranksters after her Twitter.com blog was hacked on Sunday.

The TiK ToK hit-maker's fans were whipped into a frenzy after an announcement about Ke$ha's latest song went up on her Twitter page.

The message declared, "Single out in a couple hours. Ugh so f**kin stressful... wish I could stay on da (the) beach forever."

The singer later spotted the fake message and quickly deleted it after realizing her account had been compromised.

Susan Sarandon Still Sizzles At 65 At 'Jeff, Who Lives At Home' Premiere

March 8th, 2012 10:00am EST
Susan Sarandon
If you've got it, flaunt it, and that's just what Susan Sarandon did at the "Jeff, Who Lives At Home" premiere in Los Angeles yesterday. But she's a classy sexagenarian, and that's just one of the things we love about her.

We also love that she's still got the same face (more or less) we've seen on screen since "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" in 1975. She's aged gracefully and beautifully without succoming to the botox and facelift craze like so many other actresses do.

In the film she plays Jeff's (Jason Segel) mother. Jeff is a slacker who spends much of his time smoking marijuana and e...

Emily Blunt admits her pal Jason Segel loves to get naked. The funnyman strips for a full-frontal scene in their upcoming romantic comedy "The Five-Year Engagement."

She told E! Online, "Jason was happy to get that thing out at all times. He seems to be very willing."

In the film (in theaters April 27), Emily and Jason play a couple who ride out an unusually long engagement. Judd Apatow produces, and Segel co-wrote the script.

The actor famously went nude in the 2008 film "Forgetting Sarah Marshall."

'HIMYM': Ted And Robin Back Together?

Earlier in the season, older Ted (voiced by Bob Saget) alluded that a lot of changes were coming for him and the gang, but none of it could happen until the feelings were resolved between him, Barney, and Robin. Victoria told him that this thing the three of them were doing isn’t going to work. Before he could move forward, Ted had to go back to the beginning one more time.

At the end of last week’s episode he professed his love for Robin once again. “No pressure,” Ted says, “Just let me know what you think.” Before anything can really be hashed out, Robin is whisked away on a busine...

It read: "are you serious about starting your own business in 2012? you have to check this out".

Segel quickly addressed the hack job and warned fans not to pay atten...

How I Met Your Mother returned with a new episode last night, kicking off sweeps month for CBS. Expectations are running high, with HIMYM in its highest ratings season ever. Things got a little more crowded on Monday nights as the second season of The Voice moved into its new timeslot across the dial on NBC. The Peacock went for the bold move of premiering the singing reality competition right after Super Bowl XLVI, and over 40 million people stuck around after the game to watch. It will certainly be one of the more interesting ratings showdowns of the season.

In the song she asks him to "just have a drink with me before this year ends" - but Jason did one better - he took her as his date to the Chicago Film Critics Association awards on Saturday night.

The tune includes clever lyrics like, "Now I know you're super busy, what with Sarah Marshall and Miss Piggy/ But I swear I'm worth your time, just wait and see. Now I know what you're thinking, another crazy girl with heightened feelings/ But I swear I'm sane, tested, and disease-free" - a...

Review: Bobin And Segel Do Justice with 'The Muppets'

Muppets 1
Disclaimer: I normally don't write reviews in the first person. Given my lifelong appreciation for the Muppets though, I felt my opinion wouldn't carry the same weight otherwise.

Growing up in the late 80s/early 90s, I watched Jim Henson's Muppets in all their wonderful forms: “Sesame Street,” “Fraggle Rock,” “Muppet Babies,” and reruns of “The Muppet Show.” Like other children my age, I was drawn to Kermit the Frog and his friends because of their vivid imagination, unflinching optimism, and ability to express themselves through entertaining songs.

How I Met Your Mother’s seventh season continued last night with “Ducky Tie.” I was excited because this episode was written by show creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, and they did not disappoint.

Also exciting was the return of Ashley Williams as Victoria, Ted’s (Josh Radnor) ex-girlfriend.
