Many know the square-jawed Michael Schoeffling as the dreamy Jake Ryan from the classic '80s teen movie Sixteen_Candles. The model-turned-actor studied liberal arts and competed on the wrestling team at Temple University in Philadelphia before he started modeling for GQ, eventually taking acting classes at the Lee Strausberg Theatre Institute.
