November 7th, 2011 2:00pm EST
Trailer Talk: This Week in Movies
Recently I had the opportunity to speak with Todd Strauss-Schulson, the director of last week’s comedy “A Very Harold and Kumar 3D Christmas.” I had fun speaking one-on-one with the fellow Emerson alum about his experiences directing his first major feature length film. Check out my interview here.

Dropping in at the box office this week are the Tarsem Singh Greek epic “Immortals,” the Clint Eastwood biopic “J. Edgar,” the Lars Von Trier apocalyptic drama “Melancholia,” the Adam Sandler comedy “Jack and Jill,” the William Monahan gangster flick “London Boulevard,” the Werner Herzog doc...

November 7th, 2011 8:16am EST
Katie holmes cleavage
We spotted a sexy Katie Holmes at the "Jack and Jill" world premiere in Los Angeles yesterday. The actress wore a low-cut, wrap around fuschia blouse and black skirt.

The film centers on Jack Sadelstein (Adam Sandler), who has a beautiful wife (Holmes), great kids, a gorgeous house, and a successful job. But he always dreads Thanksgiving because it means a visit from his needy, annoying, identical twin sister, Jill (also played by Sandler).

Katie also recently appeared on an episode of "How I Met Your Mother" as the slutty pumpkin.

As the show returns for its second season tomorrow night on Comedy Central, Nick recently stopped by to chat with me about what makes up one of the most twisted shows on television and who he finds funny.

Now that you're working on the second season of Pretend Time, what are some of the differences between season one and season two?

The content I think is even more aggressive, which I d...

Letters have been sent to Carrey and Sandler as well as Steve Carell, Will Ferrell, and Ben Stiller - all of whom have starred in and/or produced films that featured wild animals.

Trailer Talk: This Week in Movies - 'Just Go with It,' 'Gnomeo and Juliet' & More

February 7th, 2011 12:00pm EST
Just Go With It
Last week I did not catch anything new in theaters, but I had the opportunity to see Ben Affleck’s Boston crime thriller “The Town” and the noir drama “Winter’s Bone” on Netflix. Both turned out to be quite enjoyable, although I found “Winter’s Bone” slightly more captivating than “The Town.”

Despite some obvious similarities to Michael Mann’s “Heat,” Affleck manages to spin this tale about robbers from the working-class neighborhood of Charlestown into a compelling movie. His focus on the people from this community is what propels the story. There are frantic bank heists, memorable cha...
