After gaining a cult following with the online sketch group Lonely Island, Andy Samberg shot to stardom with the Gen-Y crowd in 2005 when he was added to the cast of Saturday Night Live. His first crack at the big screen came in 2007, when he was cast as the lead in Hot Rod, a comedy about a motorcycle daredevil directed by Samberg's Lonely Island cohort Akiva Schaffer.
