'The Dictator' And 15 Other Beards That Steal Movies
Sacha Baron Cohen brings his trademark ridicu-shock humor to his new film "The Dictator," but it may be his beard that steals the show.
He plays Admiral General Aladeen, deposed dictator of the (fictional) Republic of Wadiya, who flees to the U.S. when his country converts to democracy. As a dictator, he's used to ruling with an iron fist, an incorrigible sense of righteous cruelty, and a thick, bushy beard that could house several terrified baby sparrows.
Aladeen may feel like a fish out of water in New York City, but he'd feel right at home among Hollywood's most magnificent beards of a...

But now that we have crossed them off our list, we focus on the other celebrity couples who have stayed together through thick and thin but haven’t put a ring on it.

Radical Retro Movie Review: John Carpenter’s “The Thing”
Happy Halloween! Welcome to this surprise Radical Retro Movie Review. Recently I was thoroughly disappointed by “The Thing,” a prequel to the John Carpenter film by the same name. Since the 2011 counterpart turned out to be such a dud, I thought I should revisit the 1982 version and discuss what still makes it such a compelling masterpiece today.
What most people don’t know, is that John Carpenter’s “The Thing” was actually a remake of a 1951 film called “The Thing from Another World,” which was based itself, on a short story by John W. Campbell Jr. Carpenter was able to effectively ...

Goldie Hawn Needed Therapy To Cope With Success
Hollywood success sent Goldie Hawn into therapy for nine years - because she felt like a prisoner of Tinseltown.
The actress had no plans to become a film star when she first came to Los Angeles to work as a dancer - but movie executives liked her look and her spirit and she was on the fast-track to superstardom before she had the chance to catch her breath.
And, in a revealing TV chat with talk show queen Oprah Winfrey on Wednesday, Hawn opened up about her miserable start in Hollywood, explaining, "My whole life was turned upside down... I didn't wanna be a star... I wanted to dance and...

The Really Expendables: Actors Stallone Failed To Get On Board
It’s been joked that the Internet acted as casting director for Sylvester Stallone’s muscle and explosion symphony The Expendables. Setting out to create a who’s who of action stars of the past 30 years, Stallone cobbled together a cadre of modern stars like Jet Li and Jason Statham along with a healthy stable of direct-to-video relics like Dolph Lundgren and Eric Roberts to form his retro team of ‘roided up ass-kickers. But when looking at the film’s full cast, and its heavy reliance on muscle-heads from the worlds of MMA, professional wrestling and the NFL, it’s hard to shake the nagging ...

Five Tremendous Quentin Tarantino Films
This week we finally get to see one of the most highly anticipated movies of the summer: "Inglorious Basterds." Like all Quentin Tarantino aficionados, we've been eagerly awaiting the arrival of this World War II action epic since it was in development.
Tarantino's films have had a profound impact on those that have an appreciation for cinema. His use of excessive violence as a form of social commentary, his references to classic movies, and his nontraditional narrative structure has remarkably influenced modern moviemaking since he hit the scene in the early 1990s.

Happily Unmarried With Children: Stars Who Haven't Tied The Knot
A National Center for Education Statistics Study found that 52% of nonmarital births in the United States are to couples who live together but aren't married. This growing fad seems especially prominent in Hollywood where it's trendy to have babies out of wedlock. Although Hollywood isn't the land of tradition, one has to wonder why these couples who live together and have children together choose not to get married.
Perhaps the couple intended to tie the knot when they accidentally got pregnant. Now the new parents are too busy with the baby that their wedding plans kept getting put off...

Best Space Movies
The subject of space is a difficult one in terms of selecting films. Qualifying elements are somewhat subjective. Does the film have to take place in space? Must it include aliens? Does a mere reference to space, or different planets, make it a "space" film? In short, is it merely a subgenre of science fiction? Space and science fiction, while not mutually exclusive, can occur without the other.

Similar Story Smackdown: Which Hollywood Flicks Came Out On Top?
So, have you seen this year's comedy about an overweight, overzealous, loser-y mall cop who takes his job way too seriously and is hopelessly in love with a fellow shopping center employee? If you're not sure whether I'm referring to January's hit Paul Blart: Mall Cop or the newest Seth Rogen comedy Observe and Report (in theaters now), don't be too hard on yourself: Both flicks have eerily similar plotlines. This isn't the first time two films with the same subject matter have been released within a year of one another; Hollywood has a talent for redundancy (see: recycling and ripping off)...

Kurt Russell Complains About Moaning Actors
Kurt Russell has hit out at actors who complain about the difficulty of their profession - insisting you don't have to be talented to be in movies.
The Backdraft star is convinced that being in the film industry is easy - and actors who take their "art" too seriously are in the wrong job.
He says, "To go on about acting as art is ridiculous. You don't have to be gifted just to hit a mark and a line. As far as I'm concerned that's 90 per cent of the job. Anyone who finds acting difficult just shouldn't be doing it."
