'The Flash' All Star Team Up Doesn’t Disappoint

4/15/2015 9:57am EDT
'The Flash' Recap: 'All Star Team Up' Is Another Classic CW Cros
No lie- we've been eagerly anticipating this "The Flash"/"Arrow" team-up ever since it was announced (and ever since the "Flash vs Arrow" blew doors down last December). And just like every episode of "The Flash," ever (this is an extremely consistently written show), it didn't disappoint.

"All Star Team Up" wasn't a full-on crossover- Ray and Felicity were our only two imports last night (although previews tell us that Laurel and Cisco will meet and Barry/Oliver will be a team once more before the season's over).

But the Ray/Felicity-only thing was in "The Flash's" best interest. As Feli...

'Arrow' Recap: 'Suicidal Tendencies' Ends In A Cliffhanger

3/26/2015 9:22am EDT
'Arrow' Recap: 10 Wedding-Worthy Moments From 'Suicidal Tendenci
You know, for an episode about Diggle ("Suicidal Tendencies" was about Diggle, wasn't it?), there wasn't too much Diggle in last night's episode of "Arrow."

Sure, "Suicidal Tendencies" was loaded down with the coolness -- the Arrow fought the Atom, people died, and Olicity was destroyed forever... or at least for at least a few episodes, anyway.

But Diggle and Lyla's honeymoon in war-torn Kasnia was the weakest chunk of the episode by far (oooh, that senator guy was really evil. Greeat) while the sidestories got all the coolest bits.

At least the cool bits were as awesome as they were la...

10 Badass Moments From Last Nights 'Arrow'

3/19/2015 9:00am EDT
'Arrow' Recap: 10 Badass Moments From 'The Offer'
"Arrow's" back from hiatus! And while "The Offer" may not have blazed in with the same DEAR GOD factor as "The Flash's" "Out of Time" last night, that's not to say "The Offer" was a weak outing. Just not one that includes 800 plot twists.

Team Arrow tensions rise, Ra's al Ghul's endgame creeps closer, and Merlyn just kinda dozed on the couch the whole time. Shall we count 'em down?

10. Ra's al Ghul's Sales Pitch!

Oliver Queen becoming the next Ra's al Ghul sounds... well, a little ridiculous. But we've gotta say, Ra's makes a pretty convincing argument.

As Ra's al Ghul 2.0, Oliver could...

'Arrow' Recap: 10 Killer Moments From 'Nanda Parbat'

2/26/2015 9:11am EST
'Arrow' Recap: 10 Killer Moments From 'Nanda Parbat'
"Nanda Parbat" is the last "Arrow" we're getting for about a month. Naturally, that means cliffhangers, and the last ten minutes (ish) of "Nanda Parbat" were crammed full of 'em.

Naturally, this episode's left us with a lot of questions to linger over in the next month.

Will Oliver really be the next Ra's al Ghul? Will Nyssa side with good or evil after learning the truth about Sara's death? Will the Atom resemble the actual, comic-book Atom in any way, or just be Ray Palmer in an Iron Man suit?

For the record, we're going with: no, yes, no. Now let's count down the best moments from "Na...

'Arrow' Recap: 10 Bromantic Moments From 'The Return'

2/19/2015 9:36am EST
'Arrow' Recap: 10 Bromantic Moments From 'The Return'
Compared to this week's episode of "The Flash" (which brought out every single major storyline the show's been working towards, then exploded them with a psychic gorilla), our corresponding "Arrow" episode comes off a little subdued.

That's not entirely fair, because "The Return" is nowhere near subdued.

The action was top-notch, and there was plenty of it. Other than a few moments with Laurel, everything was either Oliver kickin' butt with Maseo in the past, or kickin' butt with Thea in the present.

In both cases, Oliver got to strengthen his emotional bonds. He and Thea definitely seem...

'Arrow': 10 Heart-Wrenching Moments From 'Draw Back Your Bow'

11/20/2014 10:06am EST
Do we have an overarching storyline for this season of "Arrow" yet? Season one was Robert Queen's little black book and the Dark Archer, while season two was Slade Wilson's revenge. Season three seems like it'll hinge on Sara's murder in the same way, except that story seems to have faltered recently.

Roy's innocent (well, innocent of Sara's murder, anyway), and the case has gone cold. We're closing in on the season's halfway point- things should hopefully pick up soon, and we'll see just what "Arrow" has planned for the long haul.

But for now, a villain-of-the-week story like "Draw Back...

Brandon Routh and Courtney Ford
Superman Returns actor Brandon Routh is set to become a super-dad.

The star's actress wife Courtney Ford is pregnant and due to give birth to the couple's first child this summer.

Routh admits he's delighted to finally be able to share the happy news - because he hated keeping it a secret from the cast and crew of his new TV pilot Partners.

He tells, "It's been so hard keeping the news to ourselves. Everyone on set keeps asking, 'Do you have kids?' and I've had to say, 'Well... not yet!' It's the truth. The baby hasn't been born yet!"

And Ford has been struggling to hide her ...

Stay tuned for my festival coverage, which will include reviews and interviews.

Why Armie Hammer Should Be Zack Snyder’s 'Superman'

10/21/2010 4:30pm EDT
With all the excitement surrounding the potential announcement of Darren Aronofsky directing the next “Wolverine” movie, fanboys and bloggers have lost sight of the fact that Zack Snyder’s “Superman” reboot still doesn’t have an actor to step into the legendary blue tights. Snyder has already stated that he plans on focusing on the early years of Superman/Clark Kent and does not want to have any connection to the other “Superman” movies (sorry, Brandon Routh).

Snyder, being a very brave and risk-taking filmmaker, is likely to cast someone audiences would never expect, but the actor who wou...

Zack Snyder Is Directing The Next 'Superman' Installment

10/5/2010 9:56am EDT
Zack Snyder
Finally some movement on the long turmoiled 'Superman' movie! There has been a lot of speculation and rumors surrounding the next ‘Superman’ installment and what they can do to breathe some fresh air into the franchise. We’ve heard talk of Darren Aronofsky directing, Natalie Portman as Lois Lane and Brandon Routh returning as the Man of Steel again and we know the villain is going to be General Zod but none of the actors have been cast thus far. Well we finally have official word on a least one aspect and maybe the most important one. Yesterday, Zack Snyder ('300' 'Watchmen' 'Sucker Pun...

Jon Hamm Says He's Too Old To Play Superman

9/18/2010 3:00pm EDT
Jon Hamm
"Mad Men" star Jon Hamm has laughed off speculation he'll be flying into action as Superman in the superhero's next movie because he's too old to play the Man of Steel.

Brandon Routh was the last actor to portray the comic book icon on the big screen in 2006's "Superman Returns."

"The Dark Knight" director Christopher Nolan has signed on to produce another installment in the blockbuster franchise, and recent rumours suggested Hamm was being courted to take over the role.

But the actor insists he hasn't been approached by movie bosses - and at 39, he's just too old to play the part.

He s...

Stars Of 'Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World' Go Pantsless For GQ (Video)

7/29/2010 1:22pm EDT
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World
Come summer, even your easy-fit workweek chinos can seem heavy, stiff, and constricting. Maybe that's why New York's most discerning dressers have moved on from casual Fridays. Here, the stars of "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" (Michael Cera, Jason Schwartzman, and Chris Evans) show us how to beat the heat while letting it all hang out, in the August issue of GQ.

"Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" is yet another Hollywood comic book adaptation, where the title character (Cera) meets the girl of his dreams (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) and must defeat her seven evil ex-boyfriends to win her heart.

India Nominates Sylvester Stallone & Denise Richards For Golden Bananas Awards

2/27/2010 11:14am EST
Sylvester Stallone
Sylvester Stallone and Denise Richards' Bollywood debuts have been panned by critics - they have both received nominations for worst movie performance at India's annual Golden Kela Awards.

The stars appear together in "Kambakkht Ishq" ("Unfortunate Love"), alongside "Superman Returns" actor Brandon Routh and Bollywood regulars Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor.

But their performances have failed to wow Hindu movie critics and the 2009 romantic comedy has landed them dishonors for the Bollywood equivalent of the Razzies.

Stallone and Richards will compete for the Baawra ho gaya hai ke (Have...

An Open Letter To Christopher Nolan On Rebooting Superman

2/17/2010 3:38pm EST
An Open Letter To Christopher Nolan re: Rebooting Superman
Dear Chris,

Congratulations on being handed the reins of one of Warner Bros.' most valuable properties, albeit one that seems to cause no small amount of creative consternation. Relax, Mr. Nolan, I'm here to give you and the team you'll select advice on how to handle Superman.

I'm one of many fanboys who was, let's say underwhelmed with Superman Returns. Using Richard Donner's classic 1978 film Superman as a springboard wasn't necessarily a BAD idea, but Bryan Singer and his writers, despite the best intentions, created a movie not exciting and inspiring, but ill-conceived and waaaay...

It must be weird being a celebrity sometimes, particularly after a wax figure is molded to look just like you. And how odd it must be to get face to face with that wax figure.

The following wax figures have been showcased at Madame Tussauds, which first opened over 200 years ago. Visitors are able to get up close and personal with A-list celebrities, sporting legends, political heavyweights and historical icons.

Best & Worst Superhero Costumes

4/30/2009 10:11am EDT
'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' opens this Friday, and could possibly overturn the all three of the other X-Men movies as the best one yet. Not because the other films forgot that Wolverine was really the star anyway, or because there's only so much CGI that a movie can handle before even the performances seem to look animated, but because this will be the first X-Men film to ditch those dorky black latex costumes that made Professor's Xavier's school look like a front for an underground S&M club. In celebration, StarPulse is taking a moment to remember the superhero fads of yesteryear. The ones...

Brandon Routh Finds A New Superhero

2/23/2009 1:08pm EST
Brandon Routh
Brandon Routh probably won't get to play Superman again given that the studio plans to totally reboot the franchise, a la Batman Begins/The Dark Knight. It seems he's found another comic book character though in Dylan Dog. He is set to star in the film version of Tiziano Sclavi's Italian comic book series in a film from producers Ahstok Amritraj and Patrick Aiello.

"We have a movie called Dead of Night which starts shooting in April with Brandon Routh," Amritraj said. "Kevin Munroe who did Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles [TMNT] is directing it. That shoots in New Orleans."

DC Movies vs Marvel Movies: Which Are Better?

6/12/2008 10:00am EDT
Dark Knight
After months of anticipation the two candidates are finally ready to square of against one another. There has quite possibly never been such a sharp contrast the American public has to choose between. One candidate possesses the mind of an intellectual while the other uses gut instincts. One maintains a trim and chiseled physique and the other uses brute strength to get his point across. One is a relative newcomer that was born in the early 1960's while one has a long and storied history having been born in the late 1930's. Are we talking about Barack Obama and John McCain? Well… I suppose ...

Jude Law
Jude Law could be Superman’s arch enemy. The Alfie actor is in talks to appear as the Man of Steel’s most hated foe General Zod in the Superman Returns sequel. The role of General Zod was made famous by Terence Stamp, who played the character in 1980 movie Superman 2 – and producers see a resemblance between Stamp and Law.

A source told Daily Express newspaper: “Zod is going to be the main bad guy in the second film. Some say they should use an unknown but the director Bryan Singer is looking at Jude. The similarities between him and Stamp are clear.”
