I think he needs about 12 to 25 years of serious observation in a locked mental health facility. He isn't a healthy person, obviously, from the subjects he chooses. I think people have a tendency to copycat the things they see and hear, and with our society in such a shaky condition we would do well not to have this kind of "work: out there, if you can call it work. Case in point, regarding his picture Thanksgiving, we just had a hideous killing in our area on Christmas Eve, 6 people died, including 2 young children. Mr. Roth will find some humour in that, and can interview the families, for details. And make a movie, and people can say it is cool. People will line up for it. It's now, it's hip. Watch kids die. Make money too, from others fears.
I am sure that his "work"does influence these sort of situations. Obviously he has got some serious problems and is trying to work them out. Yes and make money at the same time . He appears to be just some dumb jerk from the high school AV squad, or a film school dropout. He's not Spielberg or Kramer, or a Stanley Kubrick. He's just dumb, insane, nasty ,senseless and cruel, and his pictures reflect that. , He's just another messed up jerk from the eighties, who probably never cared about anyone in his entire life. Does he stop at car wrecks and visit morgues? I used to go to a church where they did things like that, the pastor used to cut up a dummy and yank a bloody heart out of it. They should collaborate.
