The actor passed away on Sunday (06Apr14). The cause of his death has not been released.

Rooney's career spanned over nine decades. He started acting as a child and accumulated over 300 credits, including the 16 films he made as America's boy next door, Andy Hardy.

Late movie icon Ava Gardner has been honored with her own post office in the county where she grew up. Smithfield Post Office in Johnston County, North Carolina, was renamed the "Ava Gardner Post Office" after President George W. Bush signed legislation on Monday.

The Night Of The Iguana actress was beloved in North Carolina throughout her life, and as well as becoming a huge Hollywood star, Gardner had high-profile marriages to Mickey Rooney, Artie Shaw and Frank Sinatra.
