Don Johnson To Star In 'From Dusk Till Dawn' TV Adaptation

Don Johnson has joined the TV adaptation of Robert Rodriguez's cult film "From Dusk Till Dawn." The 1996 film was written by Quentin Tarantino, who starred alongside George Clooney as criminals who end up in a nightclub filled with vampires.

Johnson will play Sheriff Earl McGraw, while D.J. Cotrona and Zane Holtz will fill the roles originally played by Clooney and Tarantino.

The 10-episode series will air on the El Rey Network,an English-language cable channel set to launch next month.

Lindsay Lohan's ailing career has been dealt yet another blow as her gun-toting character in Machete has been written out of the film's sequel.

Director Robert Rodriguez gave Lohan a chance to return to the big screen in his violent 2010 film, but the troubled star was cut from the trailer and the end credits after she was convicted of violating the terms of her probation stemming from a 2007 DUI arrest.

The filmmaker has now confirmed that Lohan's 'nun with a gun' character April will not feature in his upcoming follow-up, Machete Kills.

Director Robert Rodriguez has confirmed that Bruce Willis will return for the Sin City sequel, A Dame to Kill For, as cop Hartigan. 

"Bruce is back, you'll be seeing him," Rodriguez told MTV News at the Sundance Film Festival, where he was celebrating the 20th anniversary of El Mariachi.

He has also revealed Joseph Gordon-Levitt has a part in a story entitled The Long, Bad Night. He will be a cocky gambler who doesn't have the best night, judging by the title.

Mel Gibson is set to star in the sequel to Robert Rodriguez's violent 2010 action film Machete, according to a report.

The Lethal Weapon actor is in advanced talks to play a supporting role in Machete Kills, reports Deadline.com.

Directors Robert Rodriguez and Ethan Maniquis have been named in a new breach of contract lawsuit over allegations they stole the idea for their 2010 movie Machete.

Yvonne Delarosa claims she met with Maniquis in 2005 and shared her plot ideas for a movie about a man who seeks revenge by embarking on a killing spree with a machete.

According to her legal documents, filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, her storyline then became the basis for the filmmakers' bloody action movie starring Danny Trejo as Machete Cortez - but she didn't receive any money for the project.

Shortly after Rodriguez was linked to the film, a poster of his girlfriend McGowan as "Red Sonja" hit the Internet, but she has since quit the project, as has the "Planet Terror" moviemaker.
