James Avery was suffering severe health problems before his death.
The 'Fresh Prince of Bel Air' actor died from complications following open heart surgery on December 31 aged 68, but his death certificate notes he had other health issues before he died.
The document, obtained by TMZ.com, states James was suffering with severe coronary heart disease and end-stage kidney disease as well as type-2 diabetes at the time of his passing.
James died around seven weeks after the surgery, at a hospital in Glendale, California, leaving behind his wife, Barbara.

The 65-year-old star, who played Uncle Phil in the popular 1990s US sitcom, died in hospital in Los Angeles, California, on Tuesday (31.12.13) aged 68 from complications following open heart surgery.

The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air star Alfonso Ribeiro has filed for divorce from his wife of four years, Robin Stapler. The 34-year-old, best known for his role alongside Will Smith as Carlton Banks in the 90s sitcom, cites irreconcilable differences as the grounds for the split.

Ribeiro and Stapler met in 1999 while filming TV show “In The House.” They will share joint custody of their three-year-old daughter Sienna. The couple filed divorce papers in Los Angeles Superior Court yesterday.
