Born: September 21, 1971

An American actor of Dominican descent, Alfonso Ribeiro was born September 21, 1971, in New York City. Alfonso began his career at 8 years old on the PBS show "Oye Ollie," where he was soon spotted by none other than pop star Michael Jackson, who cast him in one of his many Pepsi commercials. He made his sitcom debut by playing Rick Schroder's best friend in "Sliver Spoons," and he later went on to have a role on a "A Different World." Then he landed the role that would make him famous: spoiled rich-kid Carlton Banks in the popular comedy "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air." Alfonso is a graduate of California State University at Los Angeles, and he is a professional tap dancer, Gymnast and avid racecar driver.
