Hollywood star Burt Reynolds has confessed the infamous scene in Deliverance in which co-star Ned Beatty is raped by a hillbilly was excessively graphic.

Burt Reynolds is hoping to revive his film career by playing a Hollywood star hoping to revive his career in a new British film. The veteran will play a washed-up star who signs up to play Shakespeare's King Lear in A Bunch of Amateurs.

Reynolds' character thinks the role is part of a Royal Shakespeare Company production only to find he's the star of an amateur show in a rural English village.

Television and filmmaker David E. Peckinpah has died of heart failure in Vancouver, Canada. He was 54. Peckinpah, the nephew of legendary director Sam Peckinpah, passed away on Sunday. He was executive producer on TV shows including Sliders, Silk Stalkings and Turks.
