Scarlett Johansson is close to signing a deal to return to Broadway in a revival of Tennessee Williams' Cat On A Hot Tin Roof.

The actress, who made her New York stage bow in A View From The Bridge in 2010 - and picked up a Tony Award for her performance, is slated to take on the role made famous by the late Elizabeth Taylor in the 1958 movie adaptation of the play.

She tells Variety, "I'm close to making a deal on it. I cannot wait absolutely to get to it. I'm exhilarated, I'm terrified, but I think in a good way."

'The Avengers' written and directed by Joss Whedon (Cabin In The Woods) has not one, not two, but six super heroes, who, under the leadership of Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), director of the international peacekeeping agency, S.H.I.E.L.D. come together to save the planet of course.

And thanks to the spot on direction of Mr. Whedon and his production team, they do it brilliantly. The film, shot in 3D, works on every level.

Actor Jeremy Renner's eight-month-old French bulldog died over the weekend after succumbing to scorching temperatures at a baseball game.

The Hurt Locker star's business partner, who was babysitting Franklin, took the pooch to his nephew's Little League game in Los Angeles.

According to TMZ.com, the extreme heat proved too much for Renner's pet, who started vomiting and convulsing.

He passed away despite several attempts to revive him.

The incident prompted a scuffle between another group of men, said to work at the bar, and Issara was stabbed in the neck and stomach.
