Birth Name: Tyler Posey
Born: 10/18/1991
Birth Place: Santa Monica, California, USA

Tyler Garcia Posey was born on Oct. 18, 1991 in Santa Monica, CA. Of Irish, English and Mexican descent, the future star developed a passion for the arts at the age of six, when he began acting on stage with his father, John, a former actor and writer. In 2002, Posey landed a small role in the action-thriller "Collateral Damage," starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. When Posey was first offered the role of the deaf-mute son, he reportedly declined because he thought the role should go to an actor who was deaf-mute in real life. He later reconsidered and accepted the part after meeting Schwarzenegger. That same year, Posey played Jennifer Lopez' wise-beyond-his-years son in the hit romantic comedy "Maid in Manhattan," which also starred Ralph Fiennes as a New York senatorial candidate who falls for Lopez. Posey reportedly nabbed the part after he performed an impromptu rendition of Simon and Garfunkel's 1972 single "Me and Julio Down by the School Yard" for the producers during his audition.

Posey padded his acting résumé as a series regular on the Christian family drama "Doc," about a Montana doctor (Billy Ray Cyrus) who moves to New York City to work in a medical clinic and finds that his small-town values are at odds in his new environment. Posey played a young orphan who learns new life lessons from his new adoptive parents, a police officer and a schoolteacher. After the series ended, Posey kept up his TV guest appearances before landing a recurring role on the ABC drama "Brothers & Sisters" opposite an A-list cast that included Sally Field, Calista Flockhart, Rob Lowe and Rachel Griffiths. In 2009, he had a recurring part on the drama "Lincoln Heights" (ABC Family, 2006-09) as the patient boyfriend of a teenager who is trying to fit into her neighborhood. Posey's career soared to new heights when he nabbed the lead role on the MTV comedy series "Teen Wolf," a remake of the classic film of the same name starring Michael J. Fox. Like Fox' character, Posey also played a geeky high school student named Scott McCall who longed for popularity. Thanks to a wolf attack that transforms him into a werewolf with superpowers, McCall receives his wish, including the ability to attract girls. Shortly after the series premiered, Posey was suddenly a household name among the MTV crowd.
