'Star Trek Into Darkness' Trailer Promises Plenty Of Action, But Gives Few New Details

December 6th, 2012 3:07pm EST
Star Trek Into Darkness
The first trailer for J.J. Abrams' highly anticipated Star Trek Into Darkness, debuted this morning and it promises plenty of action in the sequel to the 2009 reboot of the series, but offers little to go on in terms of what it's about.

There's not much more than is known already via the brief, official synopsis of the film; which only shares that an "unstoppable force of terror" from within Starfleet has risen and destroyed the organization and everything for which it stands. A "one man weapon of mass destruction" (Benedict Cumberbatch) is hunted by Captain Kirk (Chris Pine) after the Ent...

New 'Star Trek Into Darkness' Poster Released, First Trailer Debuts Dec. 6

December 4th, 2012 9:31pm EST
Star Trek Into Darkness
The first artwork for next year's Star Trek sequel, Star Trek Into Darkness, debuted online this week Paramount Pictures' new teaser poster for the film looks awfully familiar.

The highly anticipated sequel to J.J. Abrams' 2009 series reboot looks very similar to the artwork for The Dark Knight Rises, but instead of looking straight up and seeing the bat logo silhouetted in crumbling buildings, this time around we get the Starfleet logo blown out the side of a building (also quite reminiscent of 9/11) with a lone man (Kirk? Spock?) looking out over a city in ruin.

Little else is known abo...

Chris Pine
Chris Pine has settled a lawsuit with his former talent agents over allegations he failed to hand over millions of dollars in commission.

Bosses at SDB Partners began legal proceedings against the actor in February, claiming Pine decided to dump his representatives in November, via email, after allegedly ignoring demands to pay the agents their 10 per cent commission for projects they claim to have helped him land during their nine-year partnership.

The 2009 Star Trek remake, in which Pine played Captain Kirk, is among the 25 jobs SDB executives insist they were responsible for.

He tells the New York Times, "I was pretty strung out, so that went into the performance."

He submitted the clip to Abrams only to be told by an assistant that the filmmaker was on vacation.

January 30th, 2012 9:34am EST
Chelsea Handler
Chelsea Handler's bawdy jokes have been cut from pal Reese Witherspoon's new movie in a bid to land the film a PG-13 rating.

Movie executives lost an appeal to lower the restrictive age rating of spy comedy "This Means War" on Thursday and it was slapped with an R-rating, which prohibits film fans under the age of 18 from seeing the movie without an adult.

But reports suggest officials at the Motion Picture Association ratings board have reconsidered the rating after Fox bosses agreed to cut out Handler's risque gags.

The film, which also stars Chris Pine and Tom Hardy as love rival coll...
