Wait a minute... Joaquin Phoenix is still here?

Now that the faux-documentary "I'm Still Here" has come and gone (and nobody really cared), Phoenix is looking to get back into actual acting rather than participating in large-scale, head-scratching publicity stunts. And Paul Thomas Anderson might be assisting in his comeback as the two are in talks to work together on PTA's untitled religious drama, according to Variety.

PTA's new film, which will be his first since 2007's "There Will Be Blood," is a period piece based loosely on Scientology starring Philip Seymour Hoffman as Lancaster Do...

He evoked the presenter's wrath by refusing to remove his sunglasses for the studio interview and chewing gum as he spoke. Casey Affleck has revealed his new movie about brother-in-law Joaquin Phoenix's efforts to quit acting and become a rapper is one big hoax.

Affleck and Phoenix fooled fans and the media last year as the star announced he was turning his back on Hollywood and then grew a bushy beard and started acting strangely on a series of chat shows, and at appearances.

The madcap scenes were shot by Affleck for his newly-released "I'm Still Here" documentary.

And during recent interviews at both the Venice and Toronto Film Festivals, Affleck insisted the documentary was for real - and his pal and sub...

In late 2008, Joaquin Phoenix announced that he was retiring from acting and going to try his hand at being a rap artist. The general response was: is this a hoax and/or what the heck is he thinking? Since then, neither opinion has changed in the least. The hoax idea really became more prevalent when it was said that his brother-in-law Casey Affleck was following him around with cameras and filming everything. Now their film I'm Still Here is being released to wide audiences on September 17th, and reviewers are still not absolutely certain if the film is a hoax or a real look at an actor l...

Over the Labor Day weekend, I caught Robert Rodriguez’s action epic “Machete,” which is bullet riddled, eye candy, not intended for the faint of heart. Originally a fake movie trailer in the 2007 double feature “Grindhouse,” it wowed audiences with its brutal subject matter and wild visuals. It was not long afterward, that viewers demanded that “Machete” be made into a feature length film however it took Rodriguez a couple of years to make the project happen.

“Machete” is delightfully over-the-top with its many explosions and extensive gore that skillfully pay homage to the exploitation ...

Did Joaquin Phoenix really tumble off the edge and let himself go last year? Or did he simply stay "in-character" for several months? The trailer for I'm Still Here: The Lost Year of Joaquin Phoenix offers a sneak peek at what's to come, with little answers.

In the trailer we see Phoenix gain weight, allow his hair to grow thick and unkempt along with a beard - but we also see him apparently thrive on the streets, on a speeding boat, and...
