Interview: Sprague Grayden Talks of New '24' Role And More

11/18/2008 10:12am EST
Sprague Grayden
Sprague Grayden is a pleasure to talk to about almost anything and everything, which it seems we did. She talked to us about her new role on Fox's "24" as well as previous shows like "Jericho," "Sons of Anarchy" and "Six Feet Under." We also discussed her love of sci-fi and Pez.

We should get this out of the way, since it is probably the first question everyone asks. Your first name is your mom's maiden name, correct? It's very cool.

Yes. Thanks!

So if you have a child, will you maybe name him/her Grayden?

Grayden is a pretty cool first name for a child but I'm going to ...

'Sons Of Anarchy' Continues The Dysfunctional Family Drama

9/18/2008 10:12am EDT
Sons of Anarchy
Cable programming seems to have a trend other than sex going on. Yes, cable dramas are more violent and vulgar than anything that's found on the standard network lineup. However, cable also seem to love the dynamics that center on families.

The newest offering from the desperately controversial FX is Sons of Anarchy, a show about a biker gang in Charming, California. The series follows Jackson "Jax" Teller (Charlie Hunnam), the future leader of the biker gang and stepson to the current leader Clay Morrow (Ron Perlman).

Jax is still close to his mother Gemma (Katey Sagal) and try...

Following 'Pan's Labyrinth,' 'Hellboy II: The Golden Army' Regresses From Best to Worst For Guillermo del Toro

7/11/2008 2:22pm EDT
Hellboy II: The Golden Army
(Hollywoodchicago) – Hellboy is plugged as the world’s brawniest, kitten-loving superhero. While that paradox is supposed to be both funny and action packed, “Hellboy II: The Golden Army” from famed writer and director Guillermo del Toro falls flat on the funny front and instead winds up on the funny farm.

Amid a superhero-laden 2008 with true blockbusters including “The Dark Knight” (opening on July 18, 2008), “Iron Man,” “Hancock,” “The Incredible Hulk” and “Punisher: War Zone” (opening on Dec. 5, 2008), “Hellboy II: The Golden Army” had just as much potential but reveals only semi-b...

Wanted
Starpulse writer Dee Doyle braved the crowds and costumes at Comic Con last weekend to get the dirt on anticipated films Wanted, Hellboy 2, Harold & Kumar Escape To Guantanamo Bay and Journey to the Center of the Earth 3-D. The various panel discussions proved there's tons of action, special effects and hilarity to look forward to this summer (and this weekend!):

Revamping The 'X-Men' Movies: Possibilities For The Future

1/23/2008 12:06pm EST
X-Men
For better or worse we have a completed X-Men movie trilogy. You didn't think that was the end though, right? Wolverine fans can expect the character to debut in a self-titled movie due for release in 2009, with a Magneto prequel set to follow. It's only a matter of time before the X-Mansion is revisited and we get another outing with our favorite mutant team.

If they do make an "X-Men 4" perhaps it'll be time to change a few things within the franchise -- a new creative team perhaps, some new cast members, maybe *gasp* not have Wolverine as the lead character. Let's take a look at so...

Upcoming Comic Book Films Worth Checking Out, Part 2

Hellboy II: The Golden Army
"Hellboy II: The Golden Army" (July 11)

This is a sequel to the first "Hellboy" and is based off an enormously well received series created by Dark Horse Comics. Hellboy is the greatest supernatural detective and blends many aspects of classical horror and magic with a uniquely dry sense of humor.

The first movie was moderately popular, and the DVD sales were positive enough that a sequel was given the green light. It will be directed again by Guillermo del Toro, and star Ron Perlman as Hellboy, Selma Blair as Liz, and Doug Jones as Abe Sapien.

"Hellboy" has always been a f...
