'House' Recap: The Hermaphrodite

2/25/2009 1:46pm EST
Occasionally on "House" the writers will have two-part episodes or maybe a storyline that manages a full arc.

Stacy was one, so was Tritter (ugh) and even Amber, and yet those were all people for House to react to, and in this episode it is all about his reaction to himself. House finally has the chance to be happy, not unlike when his leg was 'fixed' after the shooting accident, but he classically chooses the wrong way. This was done far too fast, but that's probably due to the fact he's a side character in his own show now. Foreteen is all that matters to David Shore, apparently.

'House' Recap: Unfaithful

2/18/2009 2:58pm EST
Gregory House is a mean, sarcastic, brilliant, and caustic individual. For some reason this charms and fascinates the viewers, but there are times even for the biggest fan that you kind of wish he'd get over himself already. Maybe change just a tiny bit; bend a tad or progress or show real emotion. The best thing about House is for all his inhumane behavior, he is a very human character with endless flaws and insecurities. But sometimes it is hard not to want to slap him in the face and say 'go to Cuddy's party already!'

This week's episode, "Unfaithful," is about a discouraged priest ...

It's Dangerous Being A Woman On 'House'

2/4/2009 12:44pm EST
House MD
Wow, "House MD" officially celebrated its 100th episode this week, and that is a number to be proud of. Congratulations to the cast and crew for keeping this one of the best shows on TV, even if the fans grumble about a few things here and there. Will everyone still love the cranky drug addled doctor in another 100 episodes? Hopefully we'll find out!

The 100th episode, "The Greater Good," did not include Cameron and Chase, which is slightly insulting to them, and focused way too much on Foreteen. What else is new? The patient of the week is a former cancer researcher who quit her job t...

'House' Recap: Big Baby

1/28/2009 12:54pm EST
Oh, "House," remember when you were a show a bout crazy medical cases and an equally crazy druggie doctor who lived outside the rules? This was before it became all about the personal lives of the characters and random romances, of course. Those were good times. This is now the show that seems to think it would be completely believable that Cameron, a young doctor with no real administrative ability, could take Cuddy's place without the board apparently caring or paying attention. Ah well, you work with what you got, and we still love you.

This week House gets the kind of patient he al...

'House' Recap: Painless

1/21/2009 5:23pm EST
"House" is back at a whole new time, and boy can that be a little jarring. It is difficult to juggle a full TV load for a fan, and the DVR can only record so many things at the same time. "House" is now the lead-in to the newly returned "24," which means it is on Monday's on FOX at 8 pm. For anyone who missed that, do not feel too foolish; you were certainly not the only ones. Previously on "House," Foreman and Thirteen abruptly decided they had sexual tension, Cuddy got her miracle Christmas baby, and House hasn't changed at all either way. It is good to know we can always count on him to ...

'House' Recap: 'Joy to the World'

12/11/2008 9:55am EST
What is better than seeing Gregory House verbally mock stupid people? Why, watching him try to be nice to them first! This year's Christmas episode of "House," titled 'Joy to the World,' involves House trying to be genuinely nice to his patients in order to win a bet with Wilson. There is something very surreal about House smiling and wishing people a happy holiday. Last year on Christmas, House decided to mess with his new team by having them compete with one another to give him the best gift. They were very new at that point and scrambled around to impress him. This year is a distinct cha...

The Huddy Romance Is Slowly Moving On 'House'

12/4/2008 9:28am EST
This was one of the episodes on "House" that makes a fan smile; it thrived on layered plot lines and excellent acting. It reminded everyone why this is one of the best shows on television and deserves the Emmy nods every year.

While the focus on Thirteen has been irritating lately - and continues to be somewhat in this episode "Let Them Eat Cake" - Olivia Wilde manages to play the role both subtly and compassionately. Plus, there is plenty of Huddy (House and Cuddy romance) hilarity to go around, so yay for "House" getting a good medium with its full cast.

Right off the Huddy fa...

'House' Recap: 'Emancipation'

11/20/2008 9:47am EST
This may come as a shock, but the writers of "House" are managing to find a way to incorporate both the old Ducklings and the new Numbers. It is surprising and actually entertaining to watch, but the jury is still out if this will continue. If more episodes were like this episode "Emancipation," and less centered on annoying 13, it would be as good as the earlier seasons. The patient of the week is a sixteen year old factory worker who emancipated from her parents and seems to have it all together. Naturally by the episode this is all a lie, and it is instead about how she is a complete mes...

Hollywood's Sexiest Funnymen

5/9/2008 8:45am EDT
Adam Sandler
In Hollywood there seems to be an everlasting stereotype that actors are extremely good looking and almost immortal. They are the untouchable eye candy on the screen. It doesn't matter what their personalities are like, we still idolize them and their looks.

Then there are those actors who seem to have very down-to-earth personalities and are so funny that you can't help but find them sexy. According to Psychology Today online, "The allure of male humor is so strong that female laughter may have evolved as a signal of sexual interest."

Here is our list of the top Hollywood sexy ...

Comic Con Diary From the Geek Side

4/29/2008 2:43pm EDT
NYC Comic Con
Fellow Starpulse writer Michael Ryan may have lost his Comic Con virginity in New York City earlier this month, but mine was officially taken at age 10 when I attended my first con. This world of geekdom that so frightens the mainstream public is slowly being translated into "normal," and the attendance of celebrities, big publishing houses, and large studios at the Con gained the notice of the every day person who doesn't know Hal Jordan from Alan Scott. I, along with my photographer friend Lylianne, frolicked among my people for a fun-filled weekend.

Comic Con Movie Sneak Peek: 'Wanted,' 'Hellboy 2' & More

4/25/2008 8:30am EDT
Starpulse writer Dee Doyle braved the crowds and costumes at Comic Con last weekend to get the dirt on anticipated films Wanted, Hellboy 2, Harold & Kumar Escape To Guantanamo Bay and Journey to the Center of the Earth 3-D. The various panel discussions proved there's tons of action, special effects and hilarity to look forward to this summer (and this weekend!):

New Season Of 'House' Lacked Exciting Cases, Involved Too Many Doctors

12/22/2007 11:31am EST
The first episode of "House's" fourth season aired on September 25 and was named "Alone." This season gained a lot of attention and excitement due to the third season cliffhanger, which caused fans and critics to question how Dr. House was possibly going to continue without his team of underlings.

In the third season finale, "Human Error," all three members of House's team left. Chase was fired, Foreman had already put in his two weeks notice, and Cameron handed in her resignation. Fans were promised an all-new team, plus the return of its regulars, and viewers had to wonder whether "...

The video, co–directed by the film's director, Mort Nathan and star Kal Penn (Van Wilder, Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle), is a "Hot For Teacher" meets "Good Mornin' Little Schoolgirl" visual-mash-up-gone-wild.

"Get Steady" is a glossy and gritty party rocker that is the lovechild of a crazy 48 hours in the UK that included a run of shows with the Kaiser Chiefs, a stop at the NME Music Awards, a bottle of tequila wit...
