Patton Oswalt Introduces The New Agent Joining ABC's 'S.H.I.E.L.

"Agent Bobbi Morse" would be Barbara Morse, also known as Mockingbird. Morse first appeared in Marvel comics in 1971, but she wouldn’t take the Mocki...

Patton Oswalt Defends Dave Chappelle For Stage Walk Off

Patton Oswalt
Patton Oswalt has  jumped to defend Dave Chappelle after the fellow comedian walked off stage at a gig on Thursday night due to hecklers.

The stand-up cut short his set at the Comcast Theater in Hartford, Connecticut, after getting fed up with members of the audience shouting at him and quoting his older gags.

Oswalt has now taken to Twitter.com to urge those with tickets to Chappelle's ongoing comeback tour to let him do what he does best.

He writes, "Dear Dave Chappelle's fans: He's one of the best comedians working, & you're not letting him do what he loves. Stop being a**holes. ...

Patton Oswalt filming Parks and Recreation
Patton Oswalt delivered a hilarious take on U.S. Senator Rand Paul's March filibuster for Thursday night's episode of Parks and Recreation -- but you won't see the scene on television.

Oswalt was asked by the show's producers to "ramble a bit about whatever subject he wanted" while filming a scene in which he takes the podium at a Pawnee City Council meeting in order to filibuster their vote.

The comedian took them up on their offer and went into an 8+ minute rant about what Disney, who acquired Lucasfilm late last year, should do for the plot of the next Star Wars movie.

Alan’s concerned; Jake’s graduating from high school in a few days, and has no idea what he’ll do next. As he tells Jake that he’ll never amount to anything if he sleeps all day, a naked Walden wanders into the kitchen, having just wakened as well.

Review: 'Young Adult' Is Immature

December 9th, 2011 11:21am EST
Poster
I have a superstition that a studio's confidence in a film can often be determined by length of the movie's Wikipedia page. Young Adult's Wikipedia is about 800 words long if you subtract links and other website jibba jabba. The recent Muppets has about 5000 words. The reason for invoking this completely unscientific ponderment of mine is because I'm a big fan of Director Jason Reitman, so this short wiki, not a week out from the release, was a bit odd to me.

And now I know why. “Young Adult” is shallow and awful, and, ha ha, has all the depth of a young adult novel about vampires. Except ...

Mavis is a writer of a once popular series of Young Adult, aka teenage books featuring, a girl named Kendra. The series is coming to an end...that is if Mavis can ever finish the last and ...

I am so going to miss The United States of Tara, and the finale exemplified many of the reasons why this show should have been renewed. The acting is superb, the characters well realized, and the comedy/drama fine line walked so exquisitely that the viewer truly doesn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

The season and show finale, “Best Parts,” began where the last episode ended – as Tara leaped from a bridge into the water below. Quick cut to Tara in an abandoned cellar, dunking alter Bryce headfirst into a vat of murky water. Between water-boarding dips, Tara tells Bryce that she deserves be...

Greetings ghouls, goblins and basement dwellers!

Unless you’re in Southern California (113 degrees this week!) the weather is starting to cool off and the neighborhood trees are just starting to throw on their fall colors. The month of October means different things to all types of people: sports fans have football season hitting its stride, food-blog types have new vegetables to shill, kids have a lot of school to attend--which kind of sucks for them. For me the month of October means watching an unhealthy amount of horror movies.

For the past two years, I’ve watched a horror movie I had...

He began trying out zingers in front of the Television Critics Association in August. He conceded it was a tough room and he had a lot more work ahead of him.

The Informant
Last week, the long weekend gave me a chance to see "District 9" in the movie theater. The film's science fiction elements took a back seat to its moral objective however, which was roughly to serve as an allegory for the Apartheid in South Africa.

Treatment of the aliens by humans, as a subhuman species really becomes emotionally jarring through the intense blood and gore that comprise the latter half of the movie. Audiences ultimately walk away from "District 9" disgusted by the inhumanity of the human race.

A nontraditional narrative, "District 9" is largely told through the use ...

Patton Oswalt: 'Big Fan' Of Comics, Not Sports

In Big Fan, comedian Patton Oswalt plays a huge New York Giants fan. The problem is, he doesn't exactly root for a team on Sunday in real life. Big Fan has been riding a wave of buzz since its Sundance Film Festival debut - even drawing implications of a Golden Globe or Oscar nod. "I honestly don't know what to do when you're nominated. I'm assuming they send a car for you, and you go to some parties.

Learn More About SyFy's New Drama And 'BSG' Spinoff 'Caprica'

August 20th, 2009 10:07am EDT
Caprica
Long ago, in a popular culture period far, far away, to watch or read science fiction was synonymously tied to the then derogatory term of 'geek'. Now that stereotype has somewhat weakened. One of the many reasons for this change was the Ron Moore reimagining of 'Battlestar Galactica' in 2004. 'BSG' was a hit not just amongst the typical sci-fi fan base, as it is most commonly discussed as a space opera, but to more non-traditional fans. When 'Heroes' debuted on NBC it was a break in network format. Many questioned why it was not to air on the sister channel, then, Sci-Fi, and spurred d...
