The Sixth Sense actor was deeply shamed by the incident, which earned him a hefty fine and probation, as well as a mandatory rehab stint and Alcoholics Anonymous course. Osment vowed to stop drinking completely until he turns 21 and is able to buy his own booze legally. Haley Joel Osment has pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor charges stemming from a car crash in July. The actor pleaded no contest to one count of driving under the influence of alcohol and one count of possession of marijuana, according to news website TMZ.com.

Osment was sentenced to three years probation, 60 hours of alcohol rehab and three months of Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. He was fined $1,500. Former child star Haley Joel Osment has been charged with drunk driving and marijuana possession following his car crash in Los Angeles last month. The Sixth Sense star, 18, was formally charged with the misdemeanors Thursday in Los Angeles.

According to website TMZ.com, the teenager has also been charged with driving with a 0.08 percent blood alcohol level or higher and the infraction of driving under the age of 21 with a blood alcohol level of 0.05 or higher.
