2013 Emmy Awards Predictions: Who Are The Favorites To Win?

September 20th, 2013 8:48pm EDT
2013 Emmy Awards Predictions
?

It’s been a while since we’ve had such a wild card Emmy season. Last year, Homeland was all but a lock in each of its major categories, but after a shaky second season, some strong competition from other long-running shows, and a buzzworthy new Netflix series, things are really up in the air pretty much all over the place. Still, I’ll do my best to make some predictions in the big categories. Just remember: This year, pretty much anything goes.

OUTSTANDING DRAMA
Breaking Bad
Downton Abbey
Game of Thrones
Homeland
House of Cards
Mad Men

While I’d love to see Game of Thrones’ confident t...

July 27th, 2012 8:39am EDT
Ed O'Neill
Ed O'Neill has added his name to a lawsuit filed by five of his Modern Family co-stars against TV studio bosses on Tuesday in a dispute over their contracts.

Sofia Vergara, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet, Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell claim their current long-term deals with 20th Century Fox TV are in violation of California labor laws, which state personal service contracts can last no longer than seven years.

They are asking a judge to declare their prior agreements null and void, allowing them to renegotiate fresh contracts with increased salaries.

Co-star O'Neill was not part...

I stopped by a couple of charity benefits last week where I picked up some fun scooplets. My thanks to the folks at the Alzheimer Association's Night at Sardi's Fundraiser and The Humane Society's Genesis Awards for the red carpet access — and the salad, entrée and dessert.

ABC's Modern Family is ending its second season by adding a new series regular. The name of this pretty young new character: Bridgette. Who is she, you ask? "We're getting a French bulldog for me to hang out with," reports Rico Rodriguez (Manny). "She'll probably be ...

Sofia Vergara
Sofia Vergara has come to the defense of Ed O'Neill following his controversial comments about Jane Lynch's Emmy Award win, insisting her "Modern Family" co-star's words have been misinterpreted.

O'Neill hit the headlines earlier this week after appearing to question whether the "Glee" star deserved her trophy for Outstanding Supporting Actress for her portrayal of acid-tongued Sue Sylvester on the hit musical TV series in August.

The veteran actor claimed Lynch played a "one-note character", while he hailed Vergara as "so funny", adding, "I don't think people realize how hilarious she is...

Ed O'Neill Says Jane Lynch Should Not Have Won An Emmy

Actor Ed O'Neill insists Glee star Jane Lynch doesn't deserve the Emmy Award she won in August - because she plays a "one-note character" as cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester.

Lynch was delighted after picking up the Outstanding Supporting Actress trophy for her turn as acid-tongued Sylvester in the hit musical TV series.

However, former Married With Children star O'Neill insists the win was undeserved, as the role doesn't show off Lynch's full range of talents.

He tells TVGuide.com, "I love Jane, honestly I do. I'm dying to star in one of Christopher Guest's movies alongside her, but ...

It looked like nothing would ever make Ed O’Neill more famous than Married… with Children. Al Bundy is a TV legend. But now there’s this little show called Modern Family that’s taking the nation by storm. It’s won Emmys and it’s a huge hit, so maybe one day people will remember him as Jay Pritchett instead.

Sofia Vergara
Voluptuous actress Sofia Vergara was desperate to undergo breast reduction surgery as a teen, because she thought her famous curves made her look like a "stripper."

The lovely Latina star of TV show "Modern Family" started busting out at the age of 13, and she begged her mum to let her go under the knife because she was so self-conscious.

Vergara tells Self magazine, "I wanted surgery. I told my mom, 'As soon as I'm older, please take these boobs away.' She said, 'Sofia, shut up. When you're 18, it will be different.' I was like, 'Why would I want these huge t**s? I'm a 34 DD. It's hard t...
