Brittany's Blog: This is my viewpoint, from the far end of the couch...and this weekend, I'm busy re-organizing my DVD collection. All 3,000-plus of them. But while I own my fair share of blockbusters, I also have a special place in my heart for lesser-known movies. A lot of great films fly under the radar, and as I'm moving a few of them around on my shelves, I thought I ought to share them with you.

In alphabetical order, here are ten of my favorite flicks that you probably didn't know existed, and links so you can pick them up for yourselves (which you should).

1. Archangel (2005): Eve...

Edward Norton and Why Laura Mennell is the 'Alphas' MVP

The Bourne Legacy
Brittany's Blog: This is my viewpoint, from the far end of the couch...and this week, I want to single out two truly talented individuals: The Bourne Legacy co-star and multiple Oscar nominee Edward Norton, and Alphas actress Laura Mennell, who's become that show's Most Valuable Player.

Just because I'm an entertainment journalist doesn't mean I'm always up on everything; sometimes I miss things. So, better late than never to say this: Edward Norton is freaking brilliant.

I went into The Bourne Legacy two weeks ago convinced I wasn't going to like his character, as the guy was trying to...

Review: 'The Bourne Legacy' Has Its Hits And Misses

August 11th, 2012 11:08am EDT
The Bourne Legacy
Quite frankly, if there's a franchise that DIDN'T need a reboot or spin-off, it's the Bourne trilogy. It ended as great as it started.

These days I seriously think Hollywood lacks creativity. There are your little surprises that erupt every once in a while, but this constant need to be re-'Bourne' with templates of yesterday's hits needs to cease. I know it's all about money and passing-the-torch, however, if earned in a way which stems from a path of uniqueness and outstanding work, masses will demand that certain being. That said, I don't think one of our finest actors like Jeremy Renne...

Jeremy Renner isn't playing Jason Bourne, but he's taking over the Bourne franchise for Matt Damon in The Bourne Legacy. Renner's also not the first actor or actress to become the new face of a franchise. Here are 10 other franchise recasts:

Bruce Banner - Eric Bana/Edward Norton/Mark Ruffalo: Bana signed for three Hulk films, but was replaced by super fan Norton when Marvel re-acquired the rights. Norton re-wrote The Incredible Hulk and starred in a hit, but was unable to come to a deal when a role in The Avengers was available. Ruffalo filled in, and was given positive reviews.

Trailer Talk: This Week in Movies - 'Men in Black III,' 'Moonrise Kingdom' & More

May 21st, 2012 1:00pm EDT
Men in Black
I didn’t end up watching “Battleship” last week, because I wasn’t in the mood to knowingly subject myself to a bad movie that night. Friends who caught it, told me that it’s as terrible as they thought it would be, giving it a D grade. Critic Matt Patches hilariously called it “as stiff and lifeless as the plastic pieces used to play (the board game).” After hearing things like that I’m glad I didn’t bother with “Battleship.”

This week includes the release of the highly anticipated blockbuster “Men in Black III,” but I’m more interested in Wes Anderson’s “Moonrise Kingdom” since it feature...

The first trailer for the upcoming action thriller "The Bourne Legacy" has just hit the internet and all we can say is, Matt Damon who?

Okay, we're being facetious — we love you, Matt!
