Edward Norton
For those disgusted by the response of some Americans to the Syrian refugee crisis following the terrorist attacks in San Bernardino, this story featuring actor Edward Norton should hopefully restore a little faith in humanity.

Norton decided to step up in a big way for a Syrian refugee who is about to relocate to Michigan after the man's story went viral on social media last week. Norton launched an online fundraiser to support the refugee and his two children, who were featured in a post on Facebook page 'Humans of New York' on December 8. The campaign has pulled in nearly $400,000 and c...

These Celebrities Have An Amazing Talent

C'est Magnifique! Celebs Who Speak Three Or More Languages
Many celebrities are bilingual, but those who speak three or more languages are even more impressive.

Salma Hayek Pinault ("Frida," "Puss In Boots," "Grown Ups") was born in Mexico, and her native language is Spanish. She also speaks English, Portuguese and Arabic fluently. She is married to French billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault, so we suspect she speaks his language as well. But she's modest. She told David Letterman in 2013: "My French is just a humiliation every time I try to do it...I'm just not good at it."

Viggo Mortensen ("Lord of the Rings," "Hidalgo," "A History of Viole...

Michael Keaton Gets Awesomely Meta In 'Birdman' Trailer

6/13/2014 3:38pm EDT
Michael Keaton, a washed-up actor who is famous for playing a superhero, will play a washed-up actor famous for playing a superhero in Birdman.

Alright, so it's not fair to call Michael Keaton "washed-up" - although it's difficult to name a great movie he's starred in from the last two decades. If Birdman lives up to its bizarre trailer, it could spark the return of a great actor (a Beetlejuice sequel would be great, too).

As previously mentioned, Keaton will play Riggan Thomson, an actor famous for playing superhero Birdman. Thomson fights to stay in the business after a not-so-graceful ...

Ten Films I Love That You've Never Heard Of

9/9/2012 2:30pm EDT
Brittany's Blog: This is my viewpoint, from the far end of the couch...and this weekend, I'm busy re-organizing my DVD collection. All 3,000-plus of them. But while I own my fair share of blockbusters, I also have a special place in my heart for lesser-known movies. A lot of great films fly under the radar, and as I'm moving a few of them around on my shelves, I thought I ought to share them with you.

In alphabetical order, here are ten of my favorite flicks that you probably didn't know existed, and links so you can pick them up for yourselves (which you should).

1. Archangel (2005): Eve...

Edward Norton and Why Laura Mennell is the 'Alphas' MVP

The Bourne Legacy
Brittany's Blog: This is my viewpoint, from the far end of the couch...and this week, I want to single out two truly talented individuals: The Bourne Legacy co-star and multiple Oscar nominee Edward Norton, and Alphas actress Laura Mennell, who's become that show's Most Valuable Player.

Just because I'm an entertainment journalist doesn't mean I'm always up on everything; sometimes I miss things. So, better late than never to say this: Edward Norton is freaking brilliant.

I went into The Bourne Legacy two weeks ago convinced I wasn't going to like his character, as the guy was trying to...

Norton re-wrote The Incredible Hulk and starred in a hit, but was unable to come to a deal when a role in The Avengers was available. Ruffalo filled in, and was given positive reviews.

Trailer Talk: This Week in Movies - 'Men in Black III,' 'Moonrise Kingdom' & More

5/21/2012 1:00pm EDT
Men in Black
I didn’t end up watching “Battleship” last week, because I wasn’t in the mood to knowingly subject myself to a bad movie that night. Friends who caught it, told me that it’s as terrible as they thought it would be, giving it a D grade. Critic Matt Patches hilariously called it “as stiff and lifeless as the plastic pieces used to play (the board game).” After hearing things like that I’m glad I didn’t bother with “Battleship.”

This week includes the release of the highly anticipated blockbuster “Men in Black III,” but I’m more interested in Wes Anderson’s “Moonrise Kingdom” since it feature...

Cannes Preview: Spotlight Set For Big Stars And Great Films

5/15/2012 7:03pm EDT
Angelina Jolie - Brad Pitt
Despite my extensive coverage of Sundance, South by Southwest and Toronto International film festivals, I can’t quite afford to go to Cannes, France. I’ll have to watch the Cannes Film Festival from afar, but here are some things I know to expect from May 16 to May 27.

The international competition often leads to big Hollywood releases. Major films in competition include David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis starring Robert Pattinson, Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom starring Bruce Willis, Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton and Edward Norton, Lee Daniels’ The Paperboy starring Zac Efron, Nicole Kidman, Mat...

Blu-ray Interview/Review: 'Scarface's' Steven Bauer - Career Interview Time!

9/6/2011 3:30pm EDT
Scarface piece
If Tony Montana was the heavy of his illegal operation, then his right hand man Manny Ribera was most certainly the heart. Brought to life by then newbie actor Steven Bauer, Manny had both a danger and charisma that made him a perfect yin to Tony’s wild and unpredictable yang. So we here at Starpulse thought it only fitting that just in time for the tasty release of the "Scarface" Limited Edition Blu-ray hitting shelves Sept. 6 from Universal Home Video (check out the review below as well!), we wanted to get some movie geek insight about the flick from the bold Bauer himself. And while m...

Edward Norton Slams 'Unprofessional' Movie Producers Over 'Avengers' Snub

4/15/2011 8:41am EDT
Edward Norton
Edward Norton has hit out at movie bosses for publicly ruling him out of starring as The Incredible Hulk in The Avengers, branding their announcement last year "unprofessional and very dishonest."

Norton was expected to reprise his role for the superhero blockbuster, due in theatres in 2012, after playing the green monster in 2008's The Incredible Hulk but after negotiations, executives at Marvel Studios announced he would not be taking on the part again.

A statement from President of Production Kevin Feige read, "Our decision is definitely not one based on monetary factors, but instead...

10/16/2010 11:06am EDT

The 42-year-old actor is set to replace Edward Norton as Dr. Bruce Banner and his monstrous alter-ego in new movie The Avengers, and the part has already helped him get the greenlight for his less high profile projects.

And Ruffalo admits he's stunned by the reaction of movie bosses to the casting news as he hasn't even started filming The Avengers yet. He explains, "Honestly, just consider Second Coming, which I am doing...
