20 Celebrity Lushes

September 23rd, 2014 1:15pm EDT
20 Celebrity Lushes
Celebrities are like regular people in that they occasionally overindulge in things they should consume in moderation.

But too many stars have battled drug addiction and alcoholism, and although many are currently sober, some still struggle to stay clean.

Lindsay Lohan, who charmed audiences with films such as "The Parent Trap," "Freaky Friday" and "Herbie Fully Loaded," has been to rehab six times to battle her addictions.

She told Oprah Winfrey in 2013: "(Alcohol) in the past was the gateway to other things, for me... I tried cocaine with alcohol... It allowed me to drink more. I think...

It's difficult enough getting arrested when you only have your friends and family to worry about. But when you're famous, the whole world learns about your indiscretions.

Earlier this week country star Randy Travis was arrested in Dallas, Texas, on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI). Travis was completely naked at the time of his arrest, and reportedly threatened to kill the Texas troopers who took him into custody.

His mug shot (above) shows him with a black eye and dried blood on his face. Sadly, it's Travis' second arrest this year. In February, he was booked for public int...

Nick Nolte
Nick Nolte was shocked to find all his old pals were in Alcoholics Anonymous after he checked in for meetings after a lost weekend.

The actor decided it was time to stop raising hell because he was setting a bad example for his son - and so he took a pal up on his offer to attend an AA seminar.

Nolte tells the Los Angeles Times, "You have to do that... to really break the back of an obsession. I grew up in a generation when the parents drank. I didn't think anything of it until I was 48 and another actor said to me, 'Are you still doing that? If you get tired of it, we have these meetings...

Veteran star Nick Nolte is hopeful his Academy Awards nomination will boost DVD sales of Warrior - because he was "disappointed" with the movie's box office reception.

The 2011 sports drama, about two estranged brothers entering a mixed martial arts tournament, took just $23 million at cinemas, $2 million less than its $25 million budget.

Nolte has been tipped in the Actor in a Supporting Role category at the upcoming Oscars, and he's hoping the high-profile nod will encourage movie fans to watch the fight film.

He tells FOX411's Pop Tarts, "It means we might have better DVD sales. Bu...

Disney XD’s Mr. Young is a show about a child prodigy who returns to school to teach kids his own age. I recently had a chance to talk to Brendan Meyer, the star of Mr. Young. Here’s what went down.

Q: The lead in a TV show is an opportunity most actors spend an entire career waiting for; what has it been like for you to achieve this at such a young age?

Brendan Meyer: It has been a real thrill to achieve a success like this. I did a lot of work in Film/TV in 2006-2008, but in the year before Mr. Young I didn't work a lot. So, I was really able to appreciate what I got with this role. A...

Review: 'Warrior' A Wimper, Not A Roar

September 7th, 2011 1:00pm EDT
Warrior
So a previously violent and drunken wrestling coach, a soldier with undiagnosed PTSD, and a high school science teacher walk into a MMA tournament. I'll let you write the punchline. But if you're watching the 2011 testosterone-o-rama “Warrior” the joke's on you.

We open with Tom Hardy (of “Inception” fame) juggling a variety of not-particularly-well-explained-to-the-audience demons, the most distracting of which appears to be irritable switching accent syndrome. We know he's troubled because he's wearing a dark hoodie and drinking from a can inside of a paper bag.

He happens to be jugglin...

Nolte plays the prospective father-in-law of Brand's film persona and got into character by trying to intimidate the Brit on set. And that included a few painful moments.

Brand recalls, "He helps Arthur on the horse, using his testicles as a fulcrum - my testicles. In my country, if you give someone a boost... (it's) not by the nuts.

There's a saying in Hollywood that goes, when a woman turns 40 her career is over, when a man turns 40 it's just beginning. Sex appeal seems to be the driving force in most stars careers and the perception of most men is that they get sexier with age. Thanks to plastic surgery and changing attitudes women have a fighting chance of keeping their share of the sexy spotlight. But what about the men of Hollywood?

In a not-so-popular film called "I'll Do Anything" Nick Nolte plays an out of work actor who's sleeping with a casting director and lands an audition for a show she's working on. ...

Film Review: Reality Trumps Fantasy In 'Spiderwick Chronicles'

The Spiderwick Chronicles may not be in the same fantasy league as the tales of J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis and J.K. Rowling. Yet the family flick based on the books of Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black is an all-around class act, even if its world of ogres and goblins is a bit stale in the wake of its more ambitious cousins in the over-the-rainbow genre.

The human characters are the main source of wonder here. Freddie Highmore, Sarah Bolger and Mary-Louise Parker authentically capture the fractured spirit of a family newly cast into single-parent mode, while David Strathairn adds a wistf...
