Actor Bill Nighy will be forever grateful to writer/director pal Richard Curtis for helping him deliver one of the best wedding speeches ever.

The British actor, who has teamed up with Curtis for The Girl in the Cafe, Love Actually and Pirate Radio, among other movies, asked his friend to help him with a "pivotal speech" he was asked to deliver at another pal's wedding - and the filmmaker delivered perfection in just 24 hours.

Nighy tells WENN, "I could do the serious bit but I knew I had to have some jokes. I texted Richard Curtis and he said, 'Tell me a couple of things about the groom'...

Anti-Smoking Crusaders Fuming Over Johnny Depp's 'Rango'

Anti-smoking campaigners are rallying against Johnny Depp's animated movie Rango, branding the film a health hazard for depicting smoking on screen.

The movie, which features the voices of Depp, Isla Fisher and Bill Nighy, follows a group of chameleons searching for water that has been stolen from a town called Dirt. Throughout the film "at least 60 instances of characters smoking" have been counted, according to Kori Titus, CEO of non-profit organisation Breathe California.

Actor/Director Clint Eastwood is the latest star to fight a decision to shut down the UK Film Council (UKFC) - he's written a personal letter appealing against the plan.

The UKFC, which was established to develop and promote British cinema, has fallen victim to massive spending cuts as the country's new government attempts to curb spiralling debt.

More than 50 British actors, including James McAvoy, Emily Blunt and Bill Nighy, have signed a letter calling for a reversal of the decision, and now Eastwood has penned his own appeal to British politician George Osbourne.

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures announced today they will be releasing the suspense film, Valkyrie, from Director Bryan Singer, on Friday, December 26, 2008. The film was last slated for release on Oct. 3, and then it was moved to President's Day weekend starting Feb. 13. It was originally slotted for June, 2008.
