Top Ten 'Coolest 80's Movie Characters' - w/Bonus Terrence 'Critters' Mann Interview!

September 3rd, 2011 1:00pm EDT
Ug from Critters
Growing up as a movie geek, there were many fine flicks and more especially cool characters that had a major effect on me. Be it the tough silent type, the outgoing life of the party, or even the outsider with everything to prove I grew up mesmerized, captivated and ultimately wanting to be like the very epitome of what I had witnessed on the big screen. So in a tribute to the good men (and even women!) of film who molded me into the person I am today, I present this loving non-numbered list (they’re ALL #1 to me!) of the good, bad and ugly characters I adored from my childhood. Plus as ...

September 21st, 2010 6:00pm EDT
Molly Ringwald
Actress Molly Ringwald reunited with her former The Breakfast Club cast mates on Monday night to pay tribute to late director John Hughes at a special event in New York.

The now-grown-up kids from the cult 1980s movie - Ringwald, Anthony Michael Hall, Judd Nelson and Ally Sheedy - gathered at the Film Society For Lincoln Center event, 25 years after shooting the iconic picture.

The four stars last appeared together at the 2010 Academy Awards, during a tribute to Hughes, who died last year. The fifth remaining Breakfast Club member, Emilio Estevez, was the only noticeable absentee from ...

Molly Ringwald Records Jazz Album

March 9th, 2010 11:30pm EST
Molly Ringwald
"Breakfast Club" star Molly Ringwald has recorded a new jazz album - 36 years after her last release.

The 42-year-old actress recorded her debut, "I Wanna Be Loved By You", when she was just six and she completed work on her follow-up on Saturday night - hours before she took the stage at the Oscars for a touching tribute to moviemaker John Hughes.

She tells WENN, "I'm really excited about it. I haven't come up with a name yet but it's with my quintet that I've been performing with a lot in the Los Angeles area."

The actress is also branching out as a writer - she'll be releasing a new b...

Trailer Talk: This Week In Movies - 'This Is It,' 'Boondock Saints II' & More

October 27th, 2009 9:37am EDT
The House of the Devil
As a Bostonian I'm quite excited about the release of the Boston based sequel "Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day." As a huge fan of the original, I've waited years to see a sequel come to fruition.

For nearly 10 years, director Troy Duffy struggled to make the follow up to his 1999 cult hit "Boondock Saints." A Hollywood outsider, Duffy suffered from bad press characterizing him as incredibly difficult to work with. This created a major roadblock for him as he sought funding to make a second movie about the MacManus brothers, but eventually he was able to raise the money to make it h...

Rockin' and Reelin': Seven Spectacular Movie Concerts

July 7th, 2009 10:00am EDT
School of Rock
Pull out your lighter, turn up the volume, and get ready to throw up the horns. This jammin' compilation is my top seven compilation of climactic movie concerts. Why seven? Seven is a nice odd number.

When I first decided to form a list of top movie concerts, I thought having a wealth of film knowledge would help me out. Sitting down to draft the list however, I found myself at a loss for ideas. I couldn't see the forest for the trees, and plots sat jumbled together in my head.

After thinking for a few days and taking a stroll through my neighborhood Blockbuster's going out of bu...

The Best Four Years Of Your Life: Top 10 High School Movies

April 2nd, 2008 2:30pm EDT
Sixteen Candles
Before Lindsay Lohan became a Mean Girl and Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron became High School Musical sweethearts, Winona Ryder was a Heather and Molly Ringwald and Andrew McCarthy were our favorite couple from two different worlds.

Today's popular teen flicks would have never existed without the high school classics that made and shaped the genre. What makes a great high school movie is the legacy they've made on generations of teenagers, despite the decade they grew up in. These are the movies with the unforgettable characters, witty lines, and the feeling of being forever young. The...
