Spy Movies: Which One Is Your Favorite?

March 23rd, 2009 10:52am EDT
Duplicity
The movie Duplicity starring Clive Owen and Julia Roberts hit theaters this weekend. In the film, Owen, a former MI-6 agent, and Roberts, a former CIA agent, work together on a project, but neither feels they can completely trust each other. The word duplicity means to conceal one's true intentions by deceptive words or actions, and the title seems very fitting. The release is sure to be one of the more popular movies of the spring, and it got Starpulse thinking about the best spy movies.

One of the most entertaing spy movies is Arnold Schwarzenegger's True Lies, where he plays ...

Before we get started on the Mega Oscar Diary, let's go to a few random ramblings from the cadre of pre-shows around the dial:

-Philip Seymour Hoffman's hat probably came with a matching set of fingerless gloves.

-Those who were unable to see the Los Angeles CW affiliate's pre-show missed this exchange.

-The CW's Female Host: What is the role you'd love to do next. If you could do anything following 'The Wrestler' what would it be?

-Mickey Rourke: (Slowly eyes her up from head to toe with a knowing smile and walks off.)

Shrek The Musical... Yes, The Musical

December 18th, 2008 11:15am EST
Shrek the Musical
There is a famous story that during the voice over work for the original motion picture Shrek, Mike Myers, who was of course voicing the title character, decided halfway through that Shrek needed a Scottish accent. Myers's decision cost Dreamworks millions of dollars in time and reanimating Shrek's mouth to coincide with his new Scottish dialect. Well, here it is seven years later and Dreamworks is once again spending millions of dollars on the intricacies of Shrek's voice. Not for animation purposes -- Shrek (played by Brian D'arcy James, at least I think he is underneath all that makeup, ...

Talent-Packed 'The Love Guru' a Script of Destiny From Funnyman Mike Myers

June 20th, 2008 9:16am EDT
Love_Guru
(Hollywoodchicago.com) – Commendably co-written by Mike Myers (who also wrote characters for 2002’s “Austin Powers in Goldmember” and 1999’s “Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me”), you know lines like “sheket bevakasha” came directly from his bowels.

Granted, I was one of the few at my screening to understand this Hebrew line as “quiet, please” and laugh at its precision placement, but that’s OK.

Though always known as a hippie funnyman, the novel script for “The Love Guru” actually holds personal and grave emotional value for Myers. He has said the film is a “reflection of the ...

Twin sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are Geminis. Last year the 21-year-old power duo earned $17 million, and they are planning on releasing a coffee table book about their fashion inspirations.

Gemini can be fickle. Those born under this sign represent the yin and the yang, or the law of opposites. It can be no coincidence that Anne Heche is a Gemini. She famously dated Ellen DeGeneres but later married a man. She di...
