Inception star Cillian Murphy was honored in his native Ireland as he picked up a top drama prize at the 2012 Irish Times Theatre Awards.

Accepting his trophy, Murphy singled out the show's playwright and director Enda Walsh, who originally gave him his big break in the stage show Disco Pigs.

He told the crowd, "I only have two words for this really: Enda Walsh. Fifteen years ago he gifted me a career with his play Disco Pigs and 15 years later he gifted ...

Dont Waste Your Money With 'In Time' (get it?)

October 30th, 2011 2:58pm EDT
Reading this is more entertaining than this movie.
In Time, in the softest of science fictions, asks audiences to believe humans have somehow been genetically engineered to stop aging at 25, and that once you hit 25, the glowing green digital timer embedded into your arm starts counting down from one year. To live past that single year you must earn time by working for it, being given it, or engaging in ludicrous “fights” for it.

In this world time is used as money, so a cup of coffee is 4 minutes of your life, buying a fancy sports car would be a century, and so on. On paper, it sounds cool. However, there's zero thought given to any logi...

The Most Underrated Stars In Hollywood

September 10th, 2010 12:38pm EDT
Inception-062510-0029.jpg
From the A-list to the D-list, Hollywood is filled with actors and actresses that have different career ambitions. While some are completely content with starring on a season of Celebrity Rehab, some have wider aspirations, hoping to star in the next summer blockbuster or win an Academy Award.

Adam Sandler blew up back in the early 90s with legendary films such as Happy Gilmore and The Wedding Singer. Due to his past success, he is now allowed to turn out mediocre comedy flicks, obviously lacking the comedy.

No one wants to show Tom Cruise the money anymore; Jennifer Aniston should have s...

A Writer's Theory On 'Inception' (Part 2 of 2)

August 6th, 2010 3:00pm EDT
Leonardo DiCaprio and the World
Note: This is continued from my previous post and makes no sense if you have not read that post. Oh, and MASSIVE SPOILER ALERT!!! Do not continue if you have not seen Inception!

Now then, where was I? Oh, right, I was trying to convince you all that (a) I'm not a complete lunatic and (b) Inception is nothing but a dream.

My third point then, is that little conveniences abound throughout the film. The team for a blatantly illegal enterprise is located quite easily (all while time is compressed dream-style), and even Ariadne (Ellen Page) simply says "Yes" despite the fact that we have zero ...

Ellen Page Is Keeping Christopher Nolan's 'Inception' A Secret

October 1st, 2009 11:34am EDT
Ellen Page
After "The Dark Knight," Christopher Nolan knows he has to deliver a big bang with his next film. That's why he's not telling anyone what "Inception" is about. At least he can make it a surprise until it's released. All we know is it's a sci-fi blackmail thriller.

Ellen Page, who costars in the film with Leonardo DiCaprio, is enjoying keeping the secret. "I'm so happy that it's so secretive," Page said. "The other cast I'm working with, we just constantly reflect on what we're doing and are all so excited to be a part of it."

If we can't know what Nolan has in store for us next summer...

'The Dark Knight' Bestows Role of a Lifetime For Heath Ledger, Epic Proportions For Itself

July 17th, 2008 9:59am EDT
The Dark Knight
(Hollywoodchicago) – With only three short words comprising the film’s enigmatic title, “The Dark Knight” also boasts three epic claims to fame: the role of a lifetime for the late Heath Ledger as the hauntingly deranged Joker, one of the best films of 2008 and one of the greatest superhero films of all time.

In a year when Hollywood has the superhero woody comparable to when westerns where the greatest thing since sliced bread, “The Dark Knight” not only fares well against blockbuster competition with films like “Iron Man” and “The Incredible Hulk” but also manages to rise above chart...

When you think "Irish actor," Colin Farrell immediately comes to mind. A reformed bad boy who reportedly dated Britney Spears and made an infamous sex tape with former girlfriend and Playboy model Nicole Narain, Farrell has altered his priorities in the past few years.

Farrell recently showed his tender side when he opened...

Elm Street
Most people confuse horror and horrifying. Believe me, I’m a fan of the classics: Nightmare on Elm Street, Evil Dead, Dawn of the Dead, and so on. I enjoy my share of zombies, gore, masked villains and horny teenagers who never seem to learn that getting some means certain death.

However, the horror films that interest me the most are the ones that I can’t watch again or can’t watch very often. When something is truly horrifying, it should screw with you psychologically and make your skin crawl. Here are my "Top 10 Most Horrifying Films."
