'True Blood' Recap: Evan Rachel Wood Disappoints, People Act Stupid

True Blood
"True Blood" is a pretty remarkable show in that the second season eclipsed the first one in terms of writing and excellent acting, which was a big deal since the first season was critically acclaimed and beloved already. There are a lot of fans who say that they liked the premiere season, but they've started to love it this season. Every episode has been strong and interesting and weird, so it stands to reason that one episode eventually had to suck. Just so that "True Blood" didn't get too arrogant. This was that episode. It didn't suck so much as ... it was kind of treading water getting...

'True Blood' Recap: Jason To The Rescue, Sookie's New Power & More

"True Blood" I have a bone to pick with you. Now I love you very much, especially when you go crazy on me, but the most recent episode was only 45 minutes long. That is at least 10 minutes less than what we're used to, and the shortness was definitely felt. There are only two episodes left, and I expect them to be excruciatingly long to make up for it, got it?

The show opens with Sookie dreaming about Eric again, and while it does establish her softening toward him, they're becoming slightly annoying. DreamEric is most definitely not Eric, and hopefully Sookie needs to de-Twilight her th...

'True Blood' Makes An Impression At Comic-Con

True Blood
When "True Blood" first premiered on HBO last year, it already had quite an eager and excited audience. Perhaps it was the viral ads that HBO kept running, or the vampire-mania that was beginning to get attention again, but at least some of it had to do with its strong, vocal presence at the San Diego Comic Con. Thousands of people saw huge posters all over the con advertising the show and got a few first looks, so this year at a comic con it was like the cast was coming home to an inbuilt fanbase. Almost every major actor on the show appeared at the panel, and Ballroom 20, one of the large...

Best TV Couples That Aren't Together - But Should Be

February 13th, 2009 9:00am EST

There are a few unifying themes that you can find in almost any television show: drama, comedy, and yes, even a touch of romance. Comedies have plenty of drama (Hello Pam/Jim drama in The Office) and drama can have moments of comedy (everything Hurley says on Lost), but they all tend to have a focus on relationships. Even Law & Order, a cut and dry procedural, has a pairing here and there.

Yet there's a rule for shows that if a couple has great chemistry and sexual tension, don't let them get them together! It'll ruin the show! This has been the case a few times, but here are a few no...

"True Blood" smashes vampire stereotypes in the first five minutes. The other initial bloodsucker sighting is a severe looking blonde woman on TV advocating vampire rights. These vampires are not wearing black trench coats or seducing people with their eyes. They're not particularly attractive or graceful. They almost blend in.

But for someone like Louisiana waitress Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), vampires stan...

There are rumors the CW may step in to rescue the beleaguered series (which has a corporate connection to CBS), but it's a slim chance. It's happened before - "Roswell" aired on the WB and moved to UPN before cancellation and ABC just picked up NBC castoff "Scrubs" - so it could happen again. Oh, and what about "Jericho?" But maybe that's not a good example. It was canceled. Twice.
