5/29/2015 8:47am EDT
Jeffrey Dean Morgan
Jeffrey Dean Morgan is the lastest star to drop a significant amount of weight for a role. The actor lost over 40 pounds for the History Channel series "Texas Rising."

Morgan, 49, was asked by producers to lose 10 pounds to play Deaf Smith, who has tuberculosis. The actor, who is 6-foot-2, took the advice -- and then some.

He told the Today Show: "He had a consumption of tuberculosis. I got there and I was probably about 175. I left and I was about 130. I ate a can of tuna fish a day."

Morgan wouldn't advise anyone follow his example. "I did it in the most unhealthy way possible. I didn’...

Jeffrey Dean Morgan & Craig Ferguson Cover Up For Expletive-Laden TV Chat (Video)

4/8/2012 5:00pm EDT
Jeffrey Dean Morgan & Craig Ferguson
Comedian Craig Ferguson and Watchmen star Jeffrey Dean Morgan turned the air blue on TV on Thursday night after realizing they could curse without repercussions behind facial pollution masks.

The Late Late Show host Ferguson offered his guest a mask after Morgan revealed he was suffering from a bad cold, and when he joined the actor, the pair quickly figured their censored swear words could not even upset lip readers.

Morgan joked, "Holy s**t! Nobody knows what the f**k I'm saying," prompting an excited Ferguson to put his mask on and state, "We can cuss... Wow! What an awesome idea. I lo...

Jeffrey Dean Morgan
Jeffrey Dean Morgan has finally opened up about the arrival of his baby son, more than 18 months after his actress girlfriend Hilarie Burton gave birth.

The couple became proud parents to a little boy last March, but kept the news secret for over two months.

They refused to divulge the tot's name in a bid to "protect" his privacy, but now Morgan has lifted the lid on life with the toddler, who is called Gus.

The actor says, "He just said 'no' for the first time, which is f**ked up. In one week it's just like, 'No, no, no!' But everything is a first. It's been spectacular."

'Supernatural' Recap: Double The Winchesters, Half The Fun

10/29/2011 8:38am EDT
padalecki and ackles
I have a love-hate relationship with spoilers. As a television addict who can barely survive the mere seven days between episodes, I covet the irresistible nuggets of coming attractions. As an invested fan, I want to experience the adventure with the characters and be as shocked and awed as the next unspoiled viewer. It’s a pop culture quagmire. I heard about “Slash Fiction’s” awesome premise weeks ago. The episode had a fabulous potential for badassery, gore and the patented fraternal angst that keeps the fangirls swooning after more than 130 episodes. Sadly, “Slash Fiction”—while ent...

Review: 'Texas Killing Fields' May Bore You To Death

10/15/2011 2:00pm EDT
Texas Killing Fields
“Texas Killing Fields” is practical. It's effective. It hits the notes necessary. But in the end it's simply unsatisfying. “Texas Killing Fields” then, is like getting socks for Christmas. Or rather, it's like being disappointed by socks for Christmas.

On the surface, “Texas Killing Fields” is about two detectives, Mike (Sam Worthington) and Brian (Jeffery Dean Morgan) who solve murders in the depths of the rural Texas. Texas is a character in this film, make no doubt about it. The Texas presented in this movie is the kind of Texas that could find itself in a Jeff Foxworthy routine: Rust, ...

Kirsten Dunst Wears A Big Ol Sports Bra Underneath A Black Lace Dress

12/2/2010 10:00am EST
Kirsten Dunst
Kirsten Dunst appeared at the "All Good Things" New York City premiere yesterday wearing a very unflattering dress. In addition to the white cuffs, the dress reveals what looks to be a sports bra underneath. If you're going to show undergarments, make sure they're sexy!

The wealthy heir to a prominent real-estate magnate becomes caught up in a high-profile murder investigation in "All Good Things," inspired by the real-life case of Robert Durst, who was suspected of murdering his wife, Kathie, after she vanished without a trace in 1982.

Warned by his father (Frank Langella) that the comm...

‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 7 Ep. 4 Recap: More Baby Talk, Plus Worms

10/16/2010 9:12pm EDT
Meredith and Derek share a private moment.
This week’s episode of Grey’s Anatomy focused on the interpersonal relationships among the staff of Seattle Grace and the biology which fuels every human and their relationships. Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Derek’s (Patrick Dempsey) visit to the OBYGN took top billing, with the doctor telling Meredith that she had a “hostile” womb. On the wake of her miscarriage in the Season 6 finale, the news was a harsh wake-up call for the currently childless couple.

As usual, Meredith fretted over the diagnosis; her worry only increased when she met one of the mandatory patients for Episode 4. The wom...

'Grey's Anatomy' Season 7 Ep. 2 Recap: Lighting Strikes, Healing And Hope

10/7/2010 6:18am EDT
Cristina on the floor of the O.R.
The familiar faces at Seattle Grace are still recovering from the traumatic events of the Season 6 finale, but Meredith (Ellen Pompeo), Derek (Patrick Demsey), Cristina (Sandra Oh) and the rest of the Grey’s Anatomy cast are finally getting on the road to recovery—slowly and painfully, but surely. The theme of tonight’s episode was lightning; how it rarely strikes in one place twice, and how quickly life can be over with a single bolt of chance.

The episode began with Meredith continuing to campaign for approval to return to surgery, resorting to crocodile tears and a lukewarm confession o...

Burton has now confirmed the happy news, telling the Associated Press, "(We are) really happy, and we're a very good team. And we got very lucky that our family is what i...

4/20/2010 10:42am EDT
Celebrity Doppelgangers Day
April 20th is more than just 420. It also happens to be celebrity doppelganger day! So while our nations’ stoners toke themselves into a raging hunger, here’s a list of celebs that look so similar it might just trip them out.

Sandra Bullock and Michael Jackson

This is not to say Sandra Bullock is not a beautiful woman, but with her tiny, upturned nose and high cheekbones it is difficult not to see the facial similarities between her and Michael Jackson. The resemblance is even more striking when you turn up the white contrast on your television. Creepy. Of course, because Ms. Bullock’s fa...

Original Director Says 'Red Dawn' Remake Will Be 'Terrible'

3/29/2010 9:36pm EDT
Red Dawn
Moviemaker John Milius has blasted plans to remake action film "Red Dawn" - because the original is only 25 years old.

Milius, who directed and co-wrote the original, is not part of MGM's planned revamp - and he can't believe it's going ahead.

He tells the Los Angeles Times newspaper, "I think it's a stupid thing to do. The movie is not very old."

And Milius insists the new script is "terrible".

He adds, "It's all about neat action scenes and has nothing to do with story."

The original featured future "Dirty Dancing" stars Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey and Charlie Sheen; the remake ...

'Supernatural' Recap: Free To Be You And Me

9/25/2009 8:02am EDT
Supernatural showed the audience that Sam and Dean were really set on going separate ways and not just pulling another quick time apart. Dean hunted while Sam got a job bartending and started going by the name Keith. In spite of not speaking the entire episode, the brothers both had encounters with archangels.

Dean got a visit from Castiel when Cas tried to set up a meeting with the archangel that killed him. Cas admitted that he most likely wouldn't survive another encounter with Raphael, so Dean suggested they go out and meet some women. Dean then found out Castiel was a virgin and fou...

'Supernatural' Recap: 'Good God, Y'All'

9/18/2009 8:50am EDT
Thanks to his injuries in the season premiere of Supernatural, Bobby was stuck in a wheelchair. Castiel showed up and explained that he was now a rebel angel from hell and cut off from some of his powers, most importantly healing. After he carved the symbols into Sam and Dean's ribs, he was now forced to use a cell phone to track Dean down. Castiel told them that their plan to take on Lucifer was stupid, and he planned on finding God to let him send Lucifer back to hell. Castiel then took Dean's amulet, because it turned out to be able to warm up in the presence of God. The best line of the...

'Supernatural' Season Finale Recap: Lucifer Rising

5/15/2009 9:00am EDT
Aside from season two, the past three season finales of Supernatural have ended with a cliffhanger. The season four finale started with the usual quick season recap set to Kansas' "Carry on My Wayward Son" that ended with the Sam walking out on Dean.

In the teaser set in a Maryland covenant in 1972, a demon-possessed priest explained to a group of nuns that his father was trapped and the door was there at the convent. The demon's eyes turned yellow, and revealed it was Azazel, the same demon that started that the Winchesters hunted before finally killing him in the season two finale. ...

'Supernatural' Recap: 'When the Levee Breaks'

5/8/2009 9:59am EDT
Sam and Dean have been building towards a confrontation since the first episodes of Supernatural season four. With Sam's constant lies about what he's been up to with Ruby, it was only a matter of time before Dean found and got mad. Dean's version of mad started last week with him locking Sam into Bobby's panic room. In tonight's episode, Sam is still locked in the panic room and tries to get Dean to let him out.

While suffering through demon blood withdrawal, Sam had a few less than pleasant hallucinations. First up was the demon Alastair who he imagined to be torturing him. While Sa...

'Supernatural' Recap: 'The Rapture'

5/1/2009 10:22am EDT
This season on Supernatural, the show introduced the angel Castiel as an important new character. As far as the body he was borrowing, Castiel never gave any explanation other than saying it belonged to a "devout man…who prayed for this". Tonight's episode begins with Dean calmly fishing, and Castiel appearing to tell him they need to talk. Dean realizes he's dreaming and Castiel gives him an address where they can meet in private.

Sam and Dean go to the location Castiel gave Dean. They find an unconscious Castiel, but it turns out to be Jimmy, the guy that Castiel's body belongs to. H...

Starpulse's Explosive Summer Movie Preview

5/1/2009 10:06am EDT
Star Trek
Since the dawn of the American cinematic blockbuster in the late 1970s and early 1980s, moviegoers have eagerly waited for May - the unofficial beginning of summertime. This summer is no different. Films, and most popular media, are social mirrors, and this summer season supports that. The large box office contenders all deal with very similar themes: escapism and the support of the lone, outlaw hero figure (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Star Trek, Terminator Salvation, Up, Transformers 2, Public Enemies, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra, Inglourious Basterds, et...

'Supernatural' Recap: 'Jump the Shark'

4/24/2009 10:21am EDT
The promo for tonight's episode of Supernatural is centered on a young guy claiming to be Sam and Dean's long lost brother. For those that don't know, Jump the Shark is used to describe the moment when a TV show becomes unrecognizable from the way it first started. This is usually thanks to the addition of a younger, never previously mentioned obnoxious relative.

A woman runs down the hall of a house in tonight's teaser, and since this is Supernatural, it's only a matter of minutes before she has to die. Just as something pulls her under the bed, she knocks over a table with a picture...
