Model/actor Jason Momoa was born Joseph Jason Namakaeha Momoa on August 1, 1979, in Honolulu, Hawaii, but he grew-up in Norwalk, Iowa. Jason returned to Hawaii in 1998 to pursue a modeling career, and a year later he won "Hawaii's Model of the Year." Soon after, Jason landed the role he was made for, as lifeguard Jason Loane on the international hit series "Baywatch." He went on to star as hotel bartender Frankie Seau on the prime time soap opera "North Shore," and as firearms expert and combat warrior Ronon Dex on the Sci-fi channel series "Stargate Atlantis." When he's not working, Jason enjoys mountain biking, snowboarding, skateboarding and roller hockey, and he donates some of his time to the Hawaii Food Bank to promote hunger awareness.

Hawaii born Jason Momoa first caught the attention of the fashion industry when he was discovered by designer Takeo in 1999. The 20 year old began a modeling career, which he soon transformed into an acting career as well, appearing in Baywatch Hawaii and Stargate Atlantis.
