Leave Them Hanging: Favorite TV Cliffhangers
Television is a medium that thrives on manipulating audiences into tuning in, and no narrative device is more effective at accomplishing that task than the cliffhanger. With the end of the 2007-08 season rapidly approaching and new cliffhangers waiting in the wings, we have decided to celebrate our favorites from years past.
5) The Simpsons: "Who Shot Mr. Burns?"
The Cliffhanger: It didn't provoke quite the fervor of the "Dallas" storyline that it parodied, but this two-part episode did warrant a special "America's Most Wanted" and was discussed often during the summer of 19...

'Jericho' Season Two Preview: Welcome to the Allied States of America
"Jericho" returns tonight on CBS, 10 p.m. ET. When last we left our intrepid and resourceful post-apocalyptic mid-westerners, they were engaged in an all-out battle with the neighboring town of New Bern. Former mayor Johnston Greene (Gerald McRaney) had died a rather anticlimactic and needless death (as the most beloved character in the series he at least deserved to go out in a blaze of glory).
The tide had turned in favor of New Bern. But would those courageous Jericho folk simply surrender? Would they go quietly into the night? Never! They went back out there, Jake (Skeet Ul...

A representative for beloved TV star Delta Burke has denied she checked into a psychiatric hospital to seek mental health treatment.
The 51-year-old actress - who is famed for her role in 1980s comedy Designing Women - was reported to have checked into hospital to help cure her acute obsessive compulsive disorder and "hoarding".
However, Gerald McRaney, a spokesman for the star, insists she is not in a psychiatric institution. He tells People.com, "Delta is in a clinic - not a psych ward - to adjust medication. This is something she does one or twice a year. The tabloids have bl...
