Two Jews' Review 'This Means War' And Only One Feels The Spark (Video)

February 15th, 2012 1:00pm EST
This Means War
Two Jews on Film - By Joan Alperin Schwartz: Okay, so we have this cute girl who meets a sexy guy for coffee and they hit it off. A few minutes later (give or take) the same girl, meets another sexy guy, and they also hit it off.

Now in any normal situation, the girl would probably date both guys, right? Well, in 'This Means War' directed by McG, that's not so simple.

The girl is Lauren Scott (Reese Witherspoon) and the two guys are FDR (Chris Pine) and Tuck (Tom Hardy). They happen to be, unbeknownst to Lauren, BFF'S and CIA operatives.

Lauren has a successful career as a senior pr...

Lea Michele is in talks with director McG to play the leading lady in his upcoming movie adaptation of hit musical "Spring Awakening" - the Broadway show which made her famous.

Michele played Wendla when the show hit Broadway in 2006, and McG is keen to land the Glee star for his movie version.

He tells E! Online, "We're talking to Lea Michele because she made the role of Wendla famous and we'll see if that pans out and works with the timing of her schedul...

Reese Witherspoon
Reese Witherspoon broke down in tears on the set of upcoming movie This Means War when she was shown playback footage of her performance, because she found her acting "horrifying".

The Legally Blonde star admits she struggles to watch herself onscreen and rarely ever revisits her projects once filming wraps - but she made a fool of herself in front of director McG after he called her over in between takes to review certain scenes.

She tells Entertainment Weekly, "I can't even watch playback of myself on a movie. McG was showing me some footage of This Means War, and I just went apoplect...

Drew Barrymore To Remake
Drew Barrymore is giving wings to Charlie's Angels - the actress is making plans to bring the hit TV series back to the small screen. Bill Murray Proud Of His 'Difficult' Reputation

February 8th, 2010 11:53am EST
Bill Murray Proud Of His
Bill Murray never feels offended when he is labeled "difficult" to work with - because he sees it as a "badge of honor." The Hollywood actor famously fell out with director McG while they were making 2000 action film Charlie's Angels, but denied the moviemaker's claims he head-butted him when a disagreement turned violent.

He was also rumored to have clashed with actress Lucy Liu - one of his Charlie's Angels co-stars.

Murray admits he's "nothing but trouble" on film sets, especially when he doesn't agree with the decisions being made - but he doesn't see his refusal to compromise a...

December 25th, 2009 2:00pm EST
Bryce Dallace Howard
Bryce Dallas Howard listens to her dad. Ron Howard was a successful actor and now director. When she thought about entering the family business, he was straight with her.

"The best advice he gave me was that, if there was anything else I could do, to do that," Howard said. "You need to not be able to do anything else, to be in this business. If you have other options, in those unemployed moments, those other options will take precedent."

Her work with filmmakers, from McG and Sam Raimi to M. Night Shyamalan and Kenneth Branagh, makes Howard realize what else she got from her father. S...

This Week's Movie Buzz: See It, Rent It, Or Skip It?

May 18th, 2009 9:25am EDT
Terminator Salvation
The first three weeks of the summer movie season started out a bit slow, but from here the momentum really starts to build. There's a spike in the number of movies premiering with six coming out this week, two of which are sequels. One of those sequels is a movie I've been anticipating since I heard it was in development. Hint: it involves giant robots, and it's not "Transformers 2."

Opening in cinemas this week are "Terminator Salvation," "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian," "Dance Flick," "Easy Virtue," "The Girlfriend Experience," and "The Boys: The Sherman Brothers...
