With the arrival of the multi-time repeating, race against the clock fueling, Jake Gyllenhaal starring flick "Source Code" hitting theaters April 1, Starpulse thought it only polite to give a little cinematic love to the movies that utilize the power of time travel. But unlike the vast number of top five favorites lists both big (yes, we all KNOW "Back to the Future" is king!) and small ("Donnie Darko" at #1 – how hip of you!) already in abundance on the net, this is a collection of five hidden gems you may not have heard of. Review: 'Two Jews On Film' Agree On 'Barry Munday' (Video)

September 30th, 2010 9:59am EDT
Barry Munday
"Barry Munday" a quirky, very funny, and heartwarming film stars the wonderful Patrick Wilson, (playing against type), Judy Greer, Chloe Sevigny, Colin Hanks, Cybill Shepherd, Jean Smart, Emily Proctor, Missi Pyle and Malcolm McDowell. Barry Munday is a wanna be suburban Don Juan and your typical man-child. He gets viciously attacked in a movie theater one day and wakes up in a hospital bed. He quickly discovers that he's lost something very precious...his testicles. On top of that he finds out he's impregnated a woman (the marvelous Judy Greer) that he can't remember having sex with. 'Easy A' Star Aly Michalka - Hot Or Not?

September 15th, 2010 8:57pm EDT
Aly Michalka
"Hellcats" star Aly Michalka looked hot in a little black dress at the "Easy A" premiere in Los Angeles on Monday. We're not crazy about the little cape-like part of her ensemble, but since she looks so good we'll overlook it.

On her new CW series Aly, of the teen duo Aly & A.J., plays a law student who has to join the cheer leading squad to stay in school.

Starpulse recently asked if she would be singing on the series. She explained, "My music is very special to me, and I take it extremely seriously.

It's something that's sacred, that my career as an actor is separate, but when it's ...

Sylvester Stallone's Broken Neck, And A List Of Hollywood's Most Painful Injuries

January 7th, 2010 11:01am EST
Sylvester Stallone
The other day Sylvester Stallone revealed that he had a metal plate placed inside his neck after a freak accident while filming a fight scene for his new movie The Expendables. Many stars want to do their own stunts, either out of pride or a desire to make the movie as real as possible. However, few have escaped unscathed.

Stallone has always insisted on doing his own stunts, and said he had his worst injury while filming Rocky IV. He insisted that co-star Dolph Lundgren actually punch him during takes, and Dolph delivered a stunning punch to Stallone's chest. His ribs compressed agains...

'(500) Days Of Summer' & Other Films With Great Impromptu Music Scenes

(500) Days of Summer was one of the best movies of the year. The Golden Globe nominated film will be released on DVD on December 22nd

, and for those who haven't seen it - we recommend you check it out.

We especially love the musical scene where Joseph Gordon-Levitt charms the audience with his dance moves to Hall & Oates "You Make My Dreams Come True." His character, Tom, falls head over heels in love with Zooey Deschanel's character, Summer, and what better way to express his love than in song? When he thinks about her he wants to sing and dance and everyone else is as happy as he is...

Trailer Talk: 'Halloween II,' 'Taking Woodstock' & More

August 24th, 2009 10:01am EDT
HALLOWEEN II
I have not had the chance to see "Inglourious Basterds" yet, but I'm hoping to catch it in the next couple of days. From the people I have spoken with that have seen it already, it's supposed to be really entertaining.

Other films in my current backlog include "District 9" which I've only heard positive feedback about, and the Paul Giamatti comedy "Cold Souls."

Two of the movies premiering this week are horror movies, and the other two are comedies. One of the films is another sequel annoyingly titled to resemble the first movie's title much like "Fast & Furious." Arriving at the b...

Starpulse Writer Rewatches Every 'Star Trek' Film, Picks Favorites - What Are Yours?

Star Trek III The Search for Spock
As a child, I was first introduced to the original "Star Trek" television series and movies by my babysitter, who watched them on TV with me. I've always been a huge fan of all things sci-fi, so I quickly became a follower of Captain Kirk and the crew of the Enterprise.

After that, it didn't take me long to become engrossed in "Star Trek: The Next Generation," which was still airing new episodes at the time. With the thrill of new episodes, I became a bigger aficionado of Captain Picard and his crew than I was of Kirk and the original cast.

While I've never considered myself...

Video Game Movies: The Good, The Bad, And The Boll

Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li
With Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li arriving in theaters February 27, it’s time to take a look back at the video game movies that brought us to this point.

While video games run the gamut of quality - from very good to very bad - video game movies have typically been on the “poor” side of the critical spectrum. Games are written with interactivity in mind, and thus their storylines don’t always mesh with the film medium.

Still, there are a few titles one could argue are at least passable – even if fans of the video games they are based on do not find them loyal to the ori...

Claire says, "And now's the part where you tell me everything you do you do to protect me." Instead HRG tells her she's going to go to community college or there's going to be hell to pay. So basically Claire is in a prison of her own making. E...

'Heroes' Crashes and Burns

Heroes
Paul Greengrass must have designed the sloppy first episode of the new "Heroes" Chapter because they borrowed the cinematography from "The Bourne Ultimatum" and they really should give it back. NBC is apparently hurting for money and it looks as if they cut the budget for this floundering show. In response the writers decided to cut as much dialog and character development as possible and insert clichéd action sequences in which the heroes are captured by HRG backed by Nathan Petrelli. To further stretch the dwindling funds they also shot everything through a pinhole camera and succeeded in...

Latest 'Heroes' Ep Has Bad Writing, Predictable Plot Points

So this pretentious episode of Heroes begins with a narration about the meaning of an eclipse being unknowable and divine yet somehow we all know that in the next episode it will all be magically revealed, oh yeah, because they've been advertising this whole thing since last week.

Arthur Petrelli stands in front of Hiro, his hands over Hiro's ears, squeezing Hiro's head, Hiro screams and screams and screams some more. It had characters we knew and cared about, and it revealed back stories in an interesting and thought provoking way. It ...
