In between supporting their favorite charities, actors Brad Pitt and Matthew McConaughey and New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees hung out together on their balconies in the French Quarter of the Louisiana city over the weekend.

At one point Pitt threw McConaughey a beer from opposite balconies, and Brees tossed a football with the "Dallas Buyers Club" star.

On Saturday, Pitt hosted an event for his Make It Right charity, which creates environmentally sound homes in areas of the city that were devastated by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

TIME managing editor Nancy Gibbs explained that the list is about the most influential men and women, not the most powerful. "Power is a tool, influence is a skill…. If there is a common theme in many of the tributes, it’s the eagerness to see what some engineer, actor, leader or athlete will do next," she wrote.

The 10 Fittest Male Celebrities In Hollywood
Chris Hemsworth has problems most men would envy. For example, he put on so much muscle while he was preparing to play "Thor" that his costume didn't fit.

The Australian star told the Los Angeles Times in 2011: "I got the part and immediately started looking at the comic books, and the guy is 500 pounds or something and looks like Schwarzenegger. And I thought, 'OK, I'm not gonna get to that.' But I have to get bigger. (The filmmakers) kept saying 'Yeah, get as big as you can, as big as you can.'"

The "Thor" costume was altered to fit his new shape, and movie execs ordered Hemsworth to g...

14 Beloved Celebrities Who Have Been In Jail
Nobody's perfect, but it may surprise you to learn some the world's most beloved celebrities have spent time in jail.

Mark Wahlberg is a blockbuster star loved by many now, but in his teens he was a very trouble young man. A drug-addled Wahlberg had dozens of run-ins with the law by the time he was in his teens, but the most serious charge against him came after he attacked two Vietnamese men while shouting racial epithets, leaving one of them permanently blind in one eye. Wahlberg served 45 days behind bars for assault.

Hollywood's Hottest Shirtless Men
Usually it's the women who are objectified in Hollywood, but the men are fair game too! These guys are hard working actors, singers, and athletes who either take time to work out for their six-pack abs or just let nature take its course.

Professional dancers Val and Maskim Chmerkovskiy (pictured above) make sure they're in good shape for "Dancing With The Stars." The two brothers, who were born in the Ukraine, obviously work hard for their physiques.

Some male stars spend a lot of time bulking up at the gym, while others are slim and trim. Check out our gallery of seriously shirtless cele...

Following his win for Best Actor at Sunday night's Oscars, Matthew McConaughey told his wife Camila Alves he wanted to make another baby.

Instead of celebrating his win with his colleagues, the actor was overheard telling her: "We won't stay at the afterparty long - I want to go home and make another baby!"

The couple have three children: Levi, 5, Vida, 4, and 14-month-old Livingston.

'True Detective': Can Matthew McConaughey Earn An Emmy For His Role?

True Detective
The first season of True Detective concludes on HBO Sunday, so I thought it was time to say a few words about it. Started a little slow - I guess I was expecting something more along the lines of Criminal Minds and its pacing - but True Detective has become one of my favorite shows in the history of television, with an indelibly philosophic and anguished detective we've never seen the likes of before on TV and likely never will again.

Matthew McConaughey won the Oscar Sunday night for Dallas Buyers Club and he deserves an Emmy and more for his portrayal of Rust Cohle (in 1995 and 2012, and...

Bradley Cooper, who was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for "American Hustle," wore a Tom Ford tuxedo to the event. He was accompanied by his British model girlfriend Suki Waterhouse.

Jared Leto easily stole the coveted Oscar from Cooper for his role in "Dallas Buyers Club." But we don't think he won the red carpet competition.

It was a transformation both physically and emotionally for Matthew McConaughey for his Academy-Award winning role as HIV patient-turned-activist Rod Woodruff in "Dallas Buyers Club." McConaughey, known more for his laid-back Texas attitude than his stellar film work, felt the time was right to dig his teeth into unchartered territory and the pull to portray this character proved too much. Said McConaughey, "I had a real man [to draw from]. I had his diary from two years before he had HIV. I got his humor from that. I got his humanity from that."

Oscar Predictions: Does 'Gravity' Carry Enough Weight?
For the most part, the major categories at the Oscars are fairly easy to predict. But some years there are upset winners (‘Shakespeare in Love,’ Marcia Gay Harden, Juliette Binoche, Adrien Brody, to name a few) that remind us that anything can happen.

This year is a little different. Who remembers a year where the race for Best Picture is down to three films, two of which are so close that they tied at the Producers’ Guild? It seems like there are some definite locks this year (Hello, Cate Blanchett) but you read it here: Nothing is guaranteed. Nothing.

That said, here are the most likely...

'True Detective': Best And Worst Of The HBO Premiere

January 13th, 2014 9:38am EST
True Detective
Detectives on television aren’t anything new. Procedural TV often follows one case of murder per episode, showing the same police officers week after week solve a crime in the span of 42 minutes. The dark detective genre, however, is a newer phenomenon, only recently popping up frequently on the edgier networks. NBC has Hannibal, AMC tried it with The Killing, and FX aired The Bridge last year. While you can definitely see a show about gruesome murders on CBS, it’s far less likely to see one where the detectives and their own grim lives are the focus.

However, it was harder to gain weight than it was to lose it.

McConaughey told Hollyscoop: "I gained 45 of them back. The gaining was trickier than the losing. It's more fun, but it's also trickier.

Dallas Buyers Club
I will admit, as of the time I’m writing this review, I haven’t quite seen every film of 2013. But as of this moment, I’ve seen 71 films, and Dallas Buyers Club is the best. Hands down. It’s such a beautiful character arc for McConaughey that you can’t ignore it, and the film itself is just heart wrenching enough, and inspirational enough, to make you stand up and cheer.

McConaughey is tasked with playing Ron Woodruff, a real-life cowboy, who contracts the HIV virus during the peak of the AIDS crisis, and when men like Ron Woodruff thought only gays could get HIV. Ron turns from being a l...

12 Years a Slave
Some people were surprised by The Butler’s presence here, but I don’t see any surprises from them. Movies like Gravity and Her (which are frontrunners for a Best Picture nomination) aren’t large cast films, and wouldn’t get the Ensemble nomination over The Butler. The big surprise is Dallas Buyers Club, which is a relatively small cast, and did manage an Ensemble nomination. That could go a long way in getting DBC to a Best Picture nomination. Also, Daniel Bruhl is back in the race with a Supporting Actor nomination for Rush.

Kudos to the SAG members for nominating James Gandolfini for E...
