David McCallum was born in Scotland and came to America in 1961 to play Judas Iscariot in George Stevens' "The Greatest Story Ever Told." He has since appeared on both sides of the Atlantic in theater, film and television and has recorded over 30 books on tape and CD. For his performance as Illya Kuryakin in "The Man from U.N.C.L.E.," he received two Emmy Award nominations.
He has appeared in numerous on Broadway and Off Broadway productions, including "Amadeus," "Communicating Doors," "The Hunting of the Snark," "Comedians" and "The Lion in Winter." He recently played the title role in Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar" in Central Park.
His many television appearances include "The Outer Limits," "The Education of Max Bickford," on CBS, "VR5," "Motherlove," "Kidnapped," "The Invisible Man," "Law & Order," "Sex and the City," "Colditz" and "Sapphire and Steel."
His feature film credits include: "The Greatest Story Ever Told," "The Great Escape," "Billy Budd," "Freud," "Hell Drivers," "A Night to Remember," "Mosquito Squadron," "Shattered Image" and "Cherry."
McCallum lives in New York City with his wife, Katherine, an interior designer. They have a son and a daughter. He has two sons by a previous marriage and two grandchildren. His birth date is Sept. 19.
